• My trip today (Michigan)

Today was my second time exploring. I went with my friend who had never done this sort of thing before. We visited three sites, but only one of them we could enter. Old GM Plant This place was locked and had cameras, and we didn't want to set off anything. We ended up hopping the fence and walking around the perimeter. We even found an old rusted stop sign on the ground and took it home. According to research online, the place closed in 2008, but in a guard booth (seen below) we saw a magazine dated September 2006, and a few notices on the window about taking night shifts were dated 2006 as well. It was used in the early 1900s for car part manufacturing. I visited this place my first time, and I didn't find a way to get in. I wanted to revisit it again to take a few cool pictures and look at it more in-depth. Last time I got scared off by a nearby construction worker who called the police. In 2006, a $2 billion mall/plaza/park was started, but after the real estate disaster in 2008 (which hit Michigan really hard) the project was canceled after $250 million had already been sunk into it. This giant complex has 7 unfinished buildings. My friend and I only had time to check out three of them. Walking around the outside of the buildings felt like a movie set, it was incredible. Many of the comments were inspirational, some were pretty funny. As we were making our way back to the hole in the fence to walk back to my car in a nearby parking lot, we saw a car that wasn't there before. It was parked right by the hole in the fence. We tried to walk along the fence to sneak by but the security guard walked back to his car and saw us. As he started walking toward us, we jumped the fence (which we didn't think we could do previously) and booked it. Out of breath, we got into my car and drove off. I definitely want to visit this place again. Hope you enjoyed the pictures, and thank you to everyone here for equipment advice.
I'm glad you guys had fun, but please don't take thing from sites you visit.
