So I was out in my garage putting some stuff away when I heard meowing and saw my dog trying to stuff her fat ass under one of the tool benches. I told my dog to go inside and after she went in a cat came crawling out from under the tool bench and started to rub all over my leg. I gave it a pat then just went back inside to watch TV. About and hour later I hear meowing at the door and when I go outside the cat is just sitting there starring at me. I walked into the garage and it followed me, then I walked back into the yard and it continued to follow me. Finally I went back into the garage (and the cat followed) and closed the main garage door because it was starting to get dark and really windy. I laid a towel down for the cat to lay on and it pretty much just lays there, occasionally getting up to eat some dog food or drink some water.
It's grayish, and pretty young, not a kitten though. (Sorry for the quality, I had to use my cell camera).

There's a dog door in the garage it could easily get out through so if it wants to leave it can. I don't think it plans on going anywhere though. I'm also going to try and find the owner.
I don't know anything about cats though. I've had tons of dogs but never a cat. Is there anything I need to know? Foods it shouldn't eat, things it needs, etc? Cause if I end up keeping this thing I want to know how to take care of it.
Don't let it blackmail you with suicide.
If you want to keep it, you better castrate it.

Oh you.
Cats are pretty easy to take care of. Give it food, water, and a place to sleep. Give it some attention once in a while, brush it for a few minutes. Don't feed it things you wouldn't feed your dog (chocolate, ice cream, etc.)
Hope you find where it belongs though, if it has an owner they'll be missing it.
Keep it. I've found 2 stray cats before, kept both. One died of kidney problems, other is still here with me.
Make it become Raisin 2.0.

Yeah, my first priority is to find an owner. Also, no ice cream?! My dog loves ice cream.
Litter pans....
Ask that guy who found a cat aswell, think he named it raisin or something.

Contrary to cartoons, cats may like milk but they just puke it right back up later.
Give it to an animal shelter.
Exploit it by making an internet video!
Okay, not really lol. Buy some cat food, and get it a rabies check.
Btw, cats eat catfood.

I know of that thread. I think if I do keep it I'm gonna name it Grape.
If you can't find the owner, or the owner can't find you. Keep it.
Keep it, then take it to the vet to see if it has a chip.

Keep it you bitch, unless someone owns it.
OH and a crumpled up ball of loose leaf paper can be used as a cat toy...at least from the four cats my family has had that's what I know.
Buy it real cat food. If you just feed it dog food it will die. (From my experience)

Well it's eating dry dog food right now.
Nice shorts/boxers you have there OP.
Well it's eating dry dog food right now.
It's fine for a few days, but you really should buy some if you plan to have it around for a bit.
Nice shorts/boxers you have there OP.
Thanks brodude. Wearing boxers all day is amazing.
Yeah, my first priority is to find an owner. Also, no ice cream?! My dog loves ice cream.
If it's just vanilla ice cream, I've fed my cat that (not regularly or anything) and he's just fine, but I wouldn't give animals ice cream loaded with sugar, chocolate especially, nuts, etc.

I'd also go get it checked out by the vet, see if it needs vaccinations, get it fixed if it hasn't yet, and as mentioned see if it has a chip.
You'll want to get some canned and dry cat food, you can start just buying the small bag and a few cans. I rinse out empty cans and reuse them for water. For now, it can eat the dog food, stray dogs have come by my house and I've just given them a bit of the dry cat food and they usually go along their way.
Many cats are lactose intolerant.
If you plan on keeping it, buy both dry and soft food.
Buy a litter box,
something for it to play with.
And buy something like this

I got my cat one (not one on the pic) and he loves it, sleeps alot on it.
And yeah, make sure you don't give the cat to much stuff that can be bad for it's stomach, like chocolate etc.
And if you really will keep it, get it "marked", you know a tattoo in the ear so it can be identified, and get a collar with a name around its neck including a phonenumber, it have helped me lots of times when my cat was little and couldn't find home.

Cats are lactose intolerant to some degree, so feeding a cat dairy foods isn't advisable.
OP, if you're going to keep it (if it has no owner), get some flea remover, worm it, and get a cat brush to keep its fur nice and smooth.
I've heard dog food doesn't have some of the nutrients that cats need and may cause medical problems such has blindness. But anyways, keep it if your dog is friendly with other animals, but if it isn't, find it a loving home. Cats are great pets and since you have a dog, it's best of both worlds.
Judging by your profile pic, I would say give it to the ASPCA, or put it down. Death is better then living with someone who likes Ke$ha

I don't like her music, I just want her on my penis.
