More like people who enjoy life and don't want to spend hours grinding out bullshit pvp gear when you have to use regular shit gear beforehand. Dumb ass system. You know your game is shit when over a million of your subs use a damn bot to do everything. Who gives a fuck anyways wow is dying and if this next expac flops the subs will drop even more.

Wow I think I found the botter.
This banwave is good, I hate doing PvP because bots have ruined it for the last 2-3 years.

You know if you don't like playing MMO's just don't play them.
And I'd pick a sparsely populated MMO over a highly populated one filled with bots anyday, bots completely ruin the game for people who want to actually PLAY the game

If you don't enjoy actually playing the game...why do you play the game?
I seriously don't understand the mentality of people who use bots or cheat or whatever. Like where is the fun if there's no challenge? Whenever I see people aimbotting or whatever it's like you're just watching the same exact thing over and over. The robot aimed at the guy before he came around the corner and shot him. Like it always does. Woo.
I can appreciate that the grind of an MMO can be tedious, but progression is part of the fun. If the gameplay is so unfun for you that you have to cheat to get ahead then, well, why would you play?

WoW has challenge? because right now the game amounts to what is botting except the player has to stare at the screen to make sure the character doesnt step onto a 2 inch rock that renders them running in the same spot

I meant in a more general sense, but yeah, WoW is brain dead easy. When I tried playing it again, I picked a mage, which I imagine must have been a bad choice because it seemed like it was even easier than playing a warrior class. At least with warriors the enemy can be close up enough to actually hit you before they die. As a mage, nothing could touch me, and I found myself taking on packs of three enemies at a time just to give myself some sort of semblance of a challenge. Which is bizarre. You'd think an MMO would go out of it's way to be really hard, considering that the entire point is to get people playing together. What incentive is there to play with others if it only makes it even more of an easy chore? Because I can tell you it's not the mangled mess that they call a story that has been mangled and left in disorder as each expansion breaks it just a little bit more.
Doesn't mean you should use bots though. Just means the balance is fucked and the game ain't so good.

If you don't like grinding go on one of the ten billion private servers that boost your character to max level and hand you a set of the latest tier armor so you can clear group instances over and over again.
Better yet, if you don't like the typical framework of MMOs, don't play MMOs.

Then don't play it?
So what, you get to max level and max gear and then all you do is roam around pvping and nothing else?
I used to do that in another mmo. It was fun, but it quickly got old.
I think bots are just a side effect of fundamental flaws with game design imho.
Not really. It's the product of a desire to progress in a game. Bots exist for all sorts of purposes in WoW, MMO's, and online games in general because a player wants to progress without spending the time to actually play. It doesn't mean the gameplay is flawed.
me included
oh well guilty as charged whatever i guess ill return in 6 months or smth

You people rushing to get the best available gear ruin PVP for casual pvpers (like me) because when queueing into a random battleground means the games are guaranteed to be ruined by bots.
Also, they've closed the gap between pvp gear and normal gear quite a bit and getting a full PVP set takes just a couple of hours. don't be so lazy. If you're lazy, wait for a bonus weekend and do it then. Grinding is an intrinsic part of MMORPGs, if you don't want to do it, it's not the genre for you.

Eh, this kind of thing is present in basically every game & genre. It may not be a bot, but just about every game has trainers, .txt "hacks", and whatnot available for people to use to skirt past game mechanics.

It doesn't have to be.

i really think wow style mmos should have died at least 5 years ago, there needs to be something new that becomes top dog

There is more to gameplay then just the desire to progress. Not every game can as easily be broken down in to simple automatable, meaningless and low risk tasks, and then be greatly rewarded for doing them a thousand times.
And sure the sophistication in WoW bots can be pretty impressive now a days, but this shit started 10 years ago with bots that would hit the closest enemy, and it was good enough to spawn a multi million dollar industry.
It doesn't have to be.
The wealth of evidence (see: every MMO and nearly every multiplayer RPG) say otherwise. Show me an MMO without progressoin and I'll show you a dead game.
i really think wow style mmos should have died at least 5 years ago, there needs to be something new that becomes top dog
Maybe they will die when they stop making money hand over fist. It's not a coincidence that all the MMO's that emulate WoW are the most successful ones while the ones that try to be unique never gain popularity.
See: the graveyard of sandbox MMO's that everyone loves in concept but hates to actually play.

Even when it's something you can't script, there is manual boosting, such as in Call of Duty or Battlefield. As long as you have some kind of progression loop a portion of your playerbase is always going to look for ways around that.
It doesn't mean the gameplay is fundamentally flawed, it means that impatient people look for creative ways to circumvent playing the game like the 98% of people who enjoy it.
