Shooter Adam Lanza, his mother and eight of the child victims attended St. Rose of Lima. It is a Roman Catholic Church with an adjacent school, which Lanza attended briefly.
It's not clear if there actually was a threat or if, like many tragedies, whether it was a hoax or the result of a community on edge.

A violent, psychotic confidence boost or they saw how much attention the other guy got. Attention is a hell of a motivator for some people.

Isn't it obvious? Oh look at all this media response, I sure would like to be infamous as well and this guy killed 29 people, I think I'll go for 50 so I'm twice as infamous!
It's beginning to look like one of those months.
NBC saying the all-clear has been given. Still a massively dick move just to phone in a hoax threat though.
