Sifting through billions of images, YouTube videos and how-to documents, eh? I wonder, are such things hand-picked by people, or are they gathered via an "intelligent" algorithm?
If the latter, one could learn the key-phrases present, put them in the tags for a Let's Play series, and the robots would know about YouTube personalities and video games in relation to certain topics, like if they searched "microwave" and found a video of Jesse Cox playing Burial at Sea using that microwave raygun.
All I want is to see robots getting hooked on Let's Plays.
Clever Robot?
I cant wait for this thing to browse /pol/ and /b/.

"Okay Google, I want all you have on 9/11"
"9/11 was a terrorist attack carried out by the bush administration, with help from the Jews(read:Kikes) to frame Al Qaeda"
Things like this make me feel like we are a lot closer to sentient AI than we think.

na a robot collecting a bunch of information from the web doesn't really make it free thinking and sentient though it may seem similar
That robot is fucked.
I wonder how they're going to counteract the issue of it collecting incorrect information.
Or porn.

I remember reading about another similar project where the reliability of info was a consideration. The article didn't go into detail about how they calculated reliability as a datapoint, but regardless the robots don't treat all info as equal.
Didn't they try something similar to this ages ago, and the robot ended up being obsessed with pictures of cats?
Let's hope it's not getting his knowledge from YouTube comments as well :v:

Well sure, but this is the first step. They made a machine that can learn about the world, and how to do things. The next logical step will be about putting that knowledge to use for a certain goal. After that it would need to be able to assess the world from it's perspective and putting things on a time line, like figuring out what causes what, when and why and also predicting what may happen. Only a matter of time before it can make its own decisions after that.
I may sound stupid but I really think it will happen in our lifetime.
This isn't good.
It will be looking into how to develop it's own hentai rape tentacles and will roam the streets for women to womb invade within 3 years.
Calling it.

Source on this?
And what if the robot watches too many dystopia sci-fis? Viva la robot revolution? Will it aventually learn that (most of) mankind are assholes, and kill us, inslave us?
Or will it become a slave itself to 4chan, always wanting to leave, but too enticed to go anywhere else. Or worse.. TV Tropes.
That robot is gonna have so many fetishes.

Basically the same thing, only it was let loose on primarily Youtube.

Dwar Ev stepped back and drew a deep breath. "The honor of asking the first question is yours, Dwar Reyn."
He turned to face the machine. "Is there a God?"
The mighty voice answered without hesitation, without the clicking of a single relay.
"mfw there is now"
Sudden fear flashed on the face of Dwar Ev. He leaped to grab the switch.
A bolt of lightning from the cloudless sky struck him down and fused the switch shut.
"top kek xD"

if not then sorry not interested
