I hope this isn't a rerun thread, I searched and couldn't find anything. Anyway, does anyone know of a good desktop microphone for under $50 usd? My current microphone is quiet and boosts the background noise annoyingly more than it is actually present in the room.
I always suggest this, picked it up about 5 years ago for $13 and it still gets great audio http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-Audio-Skype-Computer-Microphone/dp/B000GCFN72/
I used one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-000246-USB-Desktop-Microphone/dp/B002RL84OY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323895264&sr=8-1 For about 2-3 years with no problems, passed it on to a friend who's still using it a year later.

Any other ones that look semi-professional? Like one with a stand or something. I remember one being posted quite some time ago and it had this tiny blue led on it.

There's a ATR2500, and AT2020 (USB version) but theyre over the price, too.

[editline]17th December 2011[/editline] What the actual fuck, The AT2020 being like 100 dollar on Amazon is 160 euro's here in Holland. That's fucking 210 dollar.

Sorry to hijack this thread but there is no other threads about mic that I can find. I am looking for a mic for a friend for Christmas that was 3.5mm jack and not USB because he talks a lot on Skype and has to use his headphones if he listens to music or or watches a video. I use Realtek's acoustic echo cancellation with my mic and it works fine. So I was wondering what the best mic would be to get him that is <$40 or if there is a different way that this can be done.
