Can you bring back gold membership for the new year ? - General

Hi everyone, I think the title is explicit enough. The rust kiddie storm is mostly beind us, and it's been like, half a year (?) since upgrades got removed. So can you guys bring back the gold upgrade, maybe for 1 week I don't know ? Is there still a reason not to have it ? Thanks

Start the price at something expensive and have the price go down by £1 every week nobody purchases it. When someone purchases the prices goes back up to what it started at. Now we have a game of who can hold out the longest before snagging it at the best price. So unless someone is desperate only a few people will get the Glob Menber each year.

Also name changes and giving other people titles. If somebody abuses titles, like advertises on other users, ban them, change the title back, and keep their money.

The day I was going to buy gold membership it was disabled. The anger.

Why not just bring back the post count / join date method? Seemed pretty good to me.

I would like to a gold member. Mostly because I know what my avatar is going to be and I'm waiting for gold membership, and done being a peasant blue member.

The only reason I honestly purchased my gold membership was to support this forum. (It's essentially a donation really.) Though I must say, it is kinda fun to go and run through the Refugee Camp once in a while. :v:

Gold membership needs to be removed post-haste. All it does is create this stuck-up group that colludes with each other and the moderators and kisses their asses in order to gain favor at the expense of those who are not golds.

I don't even get why gold has to become an accessable thing in the first place. It wasn't available for so long, and people went through so much to get it a few times back, that if you seriously didn't buy it this time then you've already said no thanks. And then on the other side, the only features of gold that you want are things that we seriously should already have as defaults on a forum entering the year 2015, a year we all saw growing up as kids to be the year of the true future, yet we can't have more than 80 width avatars on screens pushing 1920 pixels the same direction. Can't we for once get some cool or edgy stuff available? Like a custom [url=https://github.com/mrdoob/three.js]three.js[/url] script for avatar or something at least a little future pushing than stuff worthy 2 decades ago.

I don't really care for gold membership, but being able to change my name would be neat.

I just want gold so I can get a better avatar. I could care less about the other benefits. If we could just pay to upgrade our avatar, that would be enough for me.

Back in the day you had to have 2k posts and 2 year membership to get gold. God damn, I feel old.
