President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday congratulated United States President-elect Donald Trump for winning the elections. "President Rodrigo Roa Duterte wishes to extend his warm congratulations to Mr. Donald Trump on his recent electoral victory as President of the United States of America," Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said in a statement. "The United States presidential election is a testament to the enduring traditions of its democratic system and the American way of life. The two-party system gives American voters freedom of choice based on party platforms, not just on personalities," he also wrote. Andanar also said that Duterte looks forward to working with the incoming Trump administration. - See more at: http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/588153/news/nation/duterte-congratulates-trump-looks-forward-to-enhanced-phl-us-relations#sthash.nKAeKfzg.dpuf
Source Brown Trump congratulates Orange Trump. Hahahaha
Good, maybe President Trump can salvage the situation between our two countries given the similarities between the two. Here's hoping that reincorporating the Philippines as an ally will be the first success of his administration.
I'm sure they can't wait to have you back Duerte.
Funny because Trump is probably going to be less tolerant of his bullshit than the Obama administration if going by his victory speech meant anything
Wasn't Duterte also the reason he cancelled Phil-US training exercises and talked shit about America and shaking hands with Russia and China?
I hope it doesn't last, Trump and Duterte going at it would be fucking hilarious.

I for one am happy that we might be able to improve relations with them, especially seeing as we're not on the best of terms with them ever since the whole "Hey remember how we said we'd give you back your country? Guess who wants to be like their big papa, as in we want all your islands for ourselves" thing happened.

Then they'll just be another pariah state attached at the hip to the United States. I'm liberal and even I say fuck off Duterte.
This could be a good thing, maybe Duterte and Trump can work things out together. Time will tell.
thought this would be a parody post considering putin literally said the same thing

It'd be hilarious if they just think they'll get along, and then fucking explode on each other the moment they run into some kind of minor dispute.
One good dictator deserves another
I hope it doesn't last, Trump and Duterte going at it would be fucking hilarious.
I hope it lasts, I have a close friend in the Philippines.
Seems like figures such as Duterte and Putin are putting a smile on for Trump while they grab a knife with the hand that's behind their back.
It'd be hilarious if they just think they'll get along, and then fucking explode on each other the moment they run into some kind of minor dispute.
It'd be like two 12-year-olds screaming at eachother in Minecraft.
shit he's not even president yet and he's already bending over for him like he did with china
Wasn't it like two weeks ago when Duterte said he wasn't going to give a shit about America any more? That drop in relations wasn't exactly long-lived.
The philipines are a fucking mess, why would we want to reincorporate them
The Philippines historically is one of the oldest Asian partners of the U.S. and literally the most pro-American country in the world, as well as one of our most strategically important allies in the Pacific due to their proximity to China. We don't ever turn our backs on our allies.

It'd be weird if we become better allies with Russia and current Philippines than with Europe (minus Britain) from this.
The philipines are a fucking mess, why would we want to reincorporate them
Because this is how the world becomes a better place. Not resisting coorperation, but treating eachother as human beings. Do you want the US and russia to keep trying to undermine each other as well? Keep unnecessary rivialry over the results of outdated ideologies on both sides? Stop being so petty, this is a good thing that people are hating on because Trump. We live on the same planet and are the same species yet people on both sides of almost any major political dispute wants to stay divided instead of growing the fuck up and getting along with our differences. And this is coming from the guy who rants about Duterte and his drug war CONSTANTLY. I call this guy a upcoming dictator that should be lynched in almost every recent philippines thread. But I'm not going to pretend that getting along and fixing relations with other countries, even enemies, is a bad thing that is such backwards thinking. Do you know who we elected btw? Lol
Wasn't it like two weeks ago when Duterte said he wasn't going to give a shit about America any more? Between Kim Jong Un, Duterte, and USA, the one that actually do things nobody should do to other country and ejaculating nuclear on others is the last one.
