Why hasn't this been done sooner?
Why the hell is this bot posting shit articles from the CBBC?
Why the hell is this bot posting shit articles from the CBBC?
We act like children, so we are being treated like them.
Ha, I'm prtty sure this has been done before, and it was also done ages ago. Not exactly new tech if u ask me.
There is already technology that allows certain blind people to actually "see" instead of being just alarmed of if they are walking towards an obstacle.

Well, eye transplantation are possible, so it depends on the cause of your blindness.

Call me retarded or whatever, but wouldn't it be possible to hook up artificial eyes to a blind person's optical nerves to give them the same vision we do?
Call me retarded or whatever, but wouldn't it be possible to hook up artificial eyes to a blind person's optical nerves to give them the same vision we do?
Indeed, I'm wondering about this too..
Call me retarded or whatever, but wouldn't it be possible to hook up artificial eyes to a blind person's optical nerves to give them the same vision we do?
Possible but as far as I know (which isn't much, at all) it's still a bit too complex of a task to do.

"Now, Agent Denton, don't tell me you're going to wear sunglasses during a night operation?"

Now give me cloth x-ray vision. I already have great glasses, you can mount whatever you want on that. A HUD would be great, too.
I believe they are referring to legally blind people not actual blind people... since, you know, they can't see any light at all.
This is pretty late I remember seeing it on a TV show I think on Discovery or some shit, and the lady had glasses on but had to carry a ton of large batteries strapped onto her waist as a belt.
proximity sensor + LED = news?
Why hasn't this been done sooner?
They hadn't need them.
Call me retarded or whatever, but wouldn't it be possible to hook up artificial eyes to a blind person's optical nerves to give them the same vision we do?
Optical nerves aren't just cables you could hook up a webcam too, it's way more complex than that
They hadn't need them.
Yes, blind people don't need to see. Silly scientists.
Your well and truly fucked if you lose your glasses.
Wait, if you're already blind, then how are you supposed to see the lights anyway?
