And I wish her all the best. She's a pretty good writer, I'll be intrigued to see what adventure she's gonna work on next.
Aw yeah, Overlord 3 incoming bby
We can only hope. We NEED a proper Overlord after the disappointment that was Fellowship of Evil.
Speaking of which, what is Triumph Studios working on nowadays? After all, it's been 2 or 3 years since Age of Wonders 3 came out.

Bit less than that for the last expansion, but it would seem probably another fantasy 4X title, although they're being very cryptic/holding their cards close to their chest.

They are still around, Age of Wonders 3 still has a bit of a community that they cater too.
Overlord might be one of the best Dutch games to have been released without gaining much traction, i enjoyed the first and second game so much
I'm going to be honest, her efforts when fell short for me. The characterisation for the most part was rather underdeveloped, Lara seems a strong character but we never find out what really drives her. The supernatural elements towards the end of the first game and in the sequel feel really jarring in what is supposed to be a "gritty" reboot of the series.
The writing i can agree with, but LC has always had supernatural / mythical enemies, Trex, Centaurs, Mummy's, Dragons, Yeti's, Stone Golems, Undead Knights so on so forth.
It's part of what made the series what it is.

Well in ROTR she wanted to prove her dad didn't waste his life on nothing. In the first game it was surviving and saving her friend and crew.
As predictable as the story was, the game was good at giving her subtle characterization. In one of her campfire monologues, she remembers that she took to shooting really well when she was taught as a young girl, and that's what made it so easy for her to become a killer.
Good for her, though I had no idea she'd written for the series.
I used to read a lot of her articles in PCZone (anyone remember that?) and they were always worth the time.

Wolfenstein had them too for a long amount of time, but they got rid of it for The New Order (Yes Old Blood, but its a throwback, not a return), reboots should be brave new things. Not trying to recreate the old.

I thought the problem with Lara as a character in the reboot is that she's just incredibly cliché but without the actual self-awareness that the originals.
It just lacks this extra tongue in cheek element that made the originals fun. I miss Lara Croft as an arrogant, cocky and badass woman with all the associated banter that the originals had.

Going for brave new things doesn't mean you shouldn't keep the essence of the old. If you toss everything that's known of the series then it's no longer a reboot.
Besides The New Order still has supernatural elements in the lore in significant numbers - past some brief mentions in newspapers like [sp]hitler practically being a zombie[/sp] you literally end up [sp]in an underwater jew vault opened by lullabies which contain orbs of destruction that defy the laws of physics[/sp].
