All of those patents in that list shouldn't exist.
That's bullshit. My Android phone has all the things on that list, shouldn't it be banned too?
why dont we just go full retard and take it to the next level, let's file patents for colors, shapes and symbols!!
why dont we just go full retard and take it to the next level, let's file patents for colors, shapes and symbols!!
I'm afraid those already exist
I'm afraid those already exist
:suicide:
the use of a sliding gesture to unlock a touchscreen device
Holy shit Apple. It's like you're forcing people to go back to these kinds of mobile phones:
a text input interface that tries to anticipate which words the user wants to type and makes recommendations
every web browser and almost every device with a search function does this, how the fuck can they copyright it?
Fuck off Apple, you didn't invent EVERYTHING in the gadgetry.
Apple as a product maker I like, but as a corporation, NO.
This is going to backfire so bad on them with a large base of consumers. It's one thing to go after phones that nobody buys - but the Galaxy Nexus is the phone that people that are into pure Google experiences buy. They're effectively ruining all reputation with that group of people by implementing the ban.
Fuck off Apple, you didn't invent EVERYTHING in the gadgetry.
Apple didn't invent anything. That's why waiting for other people to go first is called "The Steve Jobs advantage".

The real losers are the consumers.
fucking crybabys
Apple basically has patented "good phones" Everyone else has to make shit phones or face immediate legal action
Guys, read the fucking article, while apple is indeed ridiculous the ban was based on the Unified Search Engine, it has nothing to do with the text prediction and stuff, you won't be losing any of these.
Fuck off Apple, your products are NOTHING alike.
"a way to manipulate structures - such as phone numbers or postcodes - within computer data" This is literally the most vague and absolutely terrible patent ever. This means that essentially you can't change a phone number inside your code without breaking their patent. The FUCK?
Looks like Apple's mad because someone made a better phone than them. Edit: Also are they going to try to get the Nexus 7 banned because it has curved edges?
This actually makes me want a Nexus 7 more
not surprising since apple stole the computer mouse from xerox
not surprising since apple stole the computer mouse from xerox
Wat, xerox did the GUI, not the mouse. The mouse was invented and patented in the 60s by Douglas Englebart.
The patents are stupid, but the real problem is the patent system that allows patents like these to exist. Apple isn't the only company with stupid patents, they have them since they get sued over other stupid patents from other companies (Which have them for the same reason, or because they're patent trolls)
Wat, xerox did the GUI, not the mouse. The mouse was invented and patented in the 60s by Douglas Englebart.
And Apple bought the rights with $1 million in shares.
Fuck Apple, and I hope the patent system burns.
Fuck Apple, and I hope the patent system burns.
Don't want the patent system to burn, it's really good for small businesses. Apple however, isn't a small business.
I'm afraid those already exist
You can't patent a color.
"the use of a single search interface - such as Siri - to retrieve information from a range of systems using a number of techniques the use of a sliding gesture to unlock a touchscreen device" Who in the hell approves this shit?
Guys, read the fucking article, while apple is indeed ridiculous the ban was based on the Unified Search Engine, it has nothing to do with the text prediction and stuff, you won't be losing any of these.
Sorta, they have to re do those features so that they are not like what apple has patented. Albeit that those are bullshit things to have patents on, why can't other phones have a simple slide to unlock feature, or text prediction.
