So, my PC parts are arriving this Thursday, and I am thinking of getting a better PSU than my current one. The PC specs are :- - Motherboard -MSI P55 - GD80 (LGA 1156, SLI, ATX) - CPU -Intel core i5-750 (2.66GHZ, LGA 1156) - RAM -Corsair DOMINATOR DDR3 1600 CL8 2 x 2GB -GPU -Gigabyte GTX 460 OC DDR5 1GB (715/3600) -HDD -Samsung Spinpoint F3 SATA 3Gb/s 1,500GB 7200 32M -OS -Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition 64bit OEM -CPU Cooler -Corsair H50 -PSU -Cooler Master GX 550W and a PCI Wireless Card, some extra 4 fans. I am already planning for another GTX 260 card for SLI within 1-2 months of getting the card but I'm not sure if my PSU can handle future PC upgrades and SLI. I'm thinking of either getting a new PSU right now or just go and buy it when I want to upgrade someday. Currently I'm keeping my eye on the Cooler Master GX 750W version. (These things are dirt cheap here ). also, if you see there is something wrong with my build, please tell me.
you should be fine for now
but will the 550W PSU able to supply enough power for 2 GTX460 in SLI? [editline]lul[/editline] whoops typo.
First you say you have a 460 and now you say you have a 260. What do you actually have? And what brand is your PSU?
oh sorry, must have made a typo. and i know 4 and 2 is waay apart. My current PSU is a Cooler Master GX 550W
Yes upgrade to a decent, 650wattish one. Be ready to shell out at least $90. By the way, what is your resolution? One GTX 460 should be good for now. [editline]18th October 2010[/editline] Oh yeah define dirt cheap for the Cooler Master you are looking at.
Well, the cooler master GX 750W only costs about Rm370. (about $119) while a 600W PSU from another brand is about Rm441 ($150). Unbelievable, trust me. My monitor resolution is 1920x1080. I usually play games on native resolution.
Uh, a 750w compared to a 600w can have different AMP outputs on the 12v rail.
Oh yeah, I forgot about how those rails work. Single rail is better right? Currently I have the money to pick up either one of these. [editline]lul[/editline] Sorry guys, I'm just a total bullshit when it comes to PSU.
