Quick Halloween piece - General

Just thought i'd show you a quick piece of work I did for halloween. I know its not coloured very well, might go back and touch it up later, but I cant really be bothered without a tablet [img]http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/7537/halloweeni.png[/img] C&C welcome, naturally

i like the concept of the monster.

I know it's a pain without a tablet, but you should add more detail to it, and try using the burn/dodge tool for shading.

First of all, I would suggest not using the burn/dodge tool for shading, secondly, nice job, I like the idea and the atmosphere, should add more detail though.

It kills the color of an image to use straight up use dodge and burn, the tools are not made to induce shading.

thanks for the comments, yeah I know it lacks details, after half an hour on it I was starting to get annoyed because my mouse is crap :S Oh well, I'll be getting a tablet late November for my birthday :D Oh and lots of windows open like that haha

It's just like filters, when you just use it, it sucks and it's easy, but on the other hand if you KNOW HOW to use it, without abusing it, then you can turn it into something good. None of us are allowed to use that excuse because of the fact that artistically we can all achieve a well drawn drawing with or without any material, we just need time and practice is all. No I can do some work with just a mouse, but mine happens to be really crappy at the moment and keeps spazzing out when trying to do detailed work :(

Don't be afraid to use some really heavy and dark shading, and a few spots of very intense light. That would really up the atmosphere for the picture
