Well after i had to get my computer cleaned out and I had to start off fresh, my speakers for some
fucking
reason, it says no audio device!!! I use sound blasterb live value digital 1024 software for it. (It is rly outdated) I really need help getting back my sound!
This happened to me after I installed drivers for my 4870, It was something to do with the HDMI audio overriding the existing sound drivers included for the motherboard's onboard sound. If you have an ATI graphics, completely uninstall your drivers all the way down to using driver sweeper. Then reinstall, selecting custom installation and when prompted with what components you want to install, deselect HDMI audio. This worked for me, if you don't have an ATI card however, I can't help you. Also, you may want to try reinstalling any motherboard chipset drivers.

Sorry for the double post, but, my dad says i don't have HDMI, i have a very old computer and not a new one.
Alright, here is what I need you to do. Click on Start Menu->run->(type in) dxdiag; select the "display" tab and copy all of the info under the section "Device" and paste it into a post here so I can tell what your graphics card is.
It sounds like you just need your sound drivers installed. Get them here - http://support.creative.com/Products/product_list.aspx?catID=1&CatName=Sound+Blaster
Name: Radeon 9550 Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Chip Type: Radeon 9550 AGP (0x4153) DAC Type: Internal DAC (400MHz) Approx... Total Memory: 256 MB Current Display Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 BIT) (75 Hz) Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
Bump
What was the outcome of what I recommended doing a couple posts up?
It did not work, it says no WDM was detected
Okay now that I know that it can't be ATI's HDMI Audio drivers interfering the next most probable solution is that you need to either update your drivers like M2K3 said (here) or, if you are using windows vista that sound card is only usable if in 5.1 surround setup. Last but not least, if you salvage that card from a Dell computer, that will not work with anything except a Dell as Creative Labs used a completely different chip for audio processing. This results in driver compatibility errors as the card you are using are not the same as the ones that are needed. Inversely, you may be using a Dell PC and you did update your drivers from Creative's website thus installing incorrect drivers causing the aforementioned driver compatibility issue.
:argh: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.
So could you elaborate on this bout of profanity? Also, 300th post!
It worked yesterday after i reinstalled it, but then today, it did not work :bang:
