Not really a fan of the whole level progression thing, especially in an ID game, but I guess it's good that the game will let you "prestige" without purging all your unlocked gear.

Leveling is becoming pretty standard in matchmaking games. Some people get addicted to it, so to devs that's like an easy way to hook players into playing more.

I wouldn't really say players get addicted, it's more of a shitty way to artificially increase the replayability of multiplayer by locking content through a grind wall.

It's not so bad.
But ultimately, it falls on the game being good enough to be played and played again, because people will just run down the progression system in a few weeks like always.

It sucks, but it works. Look at CoD, CSGO, or League of Legends.
Even DOTA
To me the most important plus of leveling it keeps people in the game. Some matchmaking games die out because of lack of online players.
the armor customization, at least what little there is right now (which implies there's gonna be more), looks sexy as fuck. the fact you can scratch up your armor or make it dirty adds a lot, even if it's a simple addition
Besides, you level up pretty quickly, at least in the beta. In it I got to level 15 (the beta's cap) in under 3 hours.
The ending with the guy dancing getting ripped in half by the Baron was funny.
Funny as hell one might say.
