Try not to go too far above 1k, $1050 is okay but try to stay as close to 1000 or below as possible. I already have a mouse, keyboard, monitor, although I do need an OS. I know I should wait for a time closer to Christmas but its my granparents buying me the parts so I really have no say in that, and they want to know earlier then that. I'll mostly be playing source games, wow, fallout: NV, pretty standard stuff don't need to run crysis (would be nice if it could though ). I use a 1600x1050 monitor in case you needed to know. Thanks!
Location? Do you need an OS?

It fits in the budget and looks nicer aesthetically. But I'm not sure if the rest of the parts are compatible with it
It is compatible.
K so hows this look?
I suggest you get an i5 760 instead. It's just $5 more and if you're not overclocking then that extra GHz will be beneficial and if you are it's likely higher binned than the 750 [editline]ew[/editline] Actually holy crap the 760 is $175 DEFINITELY get this over the 750 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115067&cm_re=i5_760-_-19-115-067-_-Product
760 is $175 now, Black Friday sale.
I made changes to my build before I was told about the sale (Grand Total: $1,065.23 ) do I still want it?
No, go i5
wait why would you even consider buying a 775 processor, are you stuck in a time machine or something that is a dual-core that is more expensive than an i5 and the motherboard doesn't even have PCI-E 2.0
760 is $175 now, Black Friday sale.
Yeah but no Hyper-Treading, whats the point [editline]25th November 2010[/editline]
wait why would you even consider buying a 775 processor, are you stuck in a time machine or something that is a dual-core that is more expensive than an i5 and the motherboard doesn't even have PCI-E 2.0
Core 2's can still preform physics calculations better then a large amout of i series CPUs, and PCIe2.0 ? It's not that important. The big gain for 2.0 is when it comes to running crossfire or SLi, he is going with a single card. There is more bandwidth to go around.

WHY? Go with my build but use this CPU instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115067&cm_re=i5_760-_-19-115-067-_-Product&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3640869&SID=skim629X1198
This is now what I'm at, please tell me this is the final revision
Ok. You don't need that CPU cooler. Also, why are you getting that GTX 470 instead? Just go for the cheapest. [editline]24th November 2010[/editline] Specifically, this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121372
@falco you mean this one right ($210 w/ rebate) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121400&cm_re=gtx_470-_-14-121-400-_-Product it's the exact same GPU but for some reason the prices are different [editline]ew[/editline] ok I guess this one is V2 but still it's cheaper so

Nice find Jaehead. Don't know how I missed this.
oh my god what is OP doing [editline]24th November 2010[/editline] E8500 wasn't even a good CPU when it was released [editline]24th November 2010[/editline] also listen to Falco [editline]24th November 2010[/editline]
Yeah but no Hyper-Treading, whats the point [editline]25th November 2010[/editline] Core 2's can still preform physics calculations better then a large amout of i series CPUs, and PCIe2.0 ?
oh my god what is OP doing
I really don't know at this point
