They want to make Fifa into an eSport? Good lord.
Let's see how they manage to do that when all people do in it is try to scam people out of players. :v:
what's hard to understand about call of duty?
Player shoots people, people are now dead.
Why would anyone watch sports eSports when they can watch real sports.
As an example, I don't know much about CoD or American football, but I find the former much easier to understand and follow along with.
what
what's the point of esports if it's just digital but otherwise normal sports
Sports games and Call of Duty can never become esports until they stop annualising. When you fragment the audience every single year it's pretty difficult to get a unified community going.
There's no community to unify anyway, it's just a bunch of whining kids and the game is broken.
Sports fans will probably just watch the real thing. So instead of getting that audience they get the fraction of gamers that's so hardcore into sports games they want to watch professionals play it.
I feel they're going to achieve the opposite of what they intended to do.

Call of Duty shamefully is an eSports for a few weeks, then everyone drops it and goes back to playing PuGs on CoD4 iirc.
