CLARK — Police are searching for a missing 16-year-old girl from Clark, according to online reports.
Kara Alongi's name is currently trending on Twitter, with people tweeting messages to spread the word of her disappearance.
At 6:12 p.m. today, Alongi tweeted: "There is somone in my hour ecall 911."
Clark police could not be reached for comment.
But police sent out an Amber alert for Alongi around 10:40 tonight. The report said she was home alone at the time of her disappearance and there were signs of a break-in at her home.
Alongi is 5 foot 3 with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue Arthur L. Johnson High School sweat shirt.
I saw the tweet retweeted on twitter by someone I am following. I posted it because I find it especially surreal that the girl is so young and that evidence of the kidnapping was posted on twitter; it just seems relevant. On that note why the fuck would you tweet instead of calling 911 yourself?
UPDATE:
Turns out she ran away.
Read the posts above you. I've posted sources that confirm she got into a cab BY HERSELF and went to the train station. She's a runaway and everyone knows that now.
oh hey look who I found

Now it would appear that she is just an asshole/attention whore. Good on you for scaring your family and friends and enticing a search for you!
I'm not sure if it's common or not but it's been known for people to ring friends or family to call 911 for them in panic, I guess because they don't know what to say.
She might not have had her phone on her, or was worried the guy would hear her call.

Because if Twitter is open and your phone is not next to you, it's practically the next best thing.
Wait how does one even go about getting into an hour ecall?
I have an early model but the locks are still rock solid.
If you think about it, it kinda kinda makes sense
if the suspect is in the house, you don't have time to make a phone call, and he'll hear
tweeting it wasn't the best way of getting it out, but the idea behind it kinda makes sense
Well if she called 911, maybe the person in her house would've heard her.
But then, it would make much more sense to send her parents or a close a friend a text message, since I wouldn't imagine her tweet would've been taken very seriously. I would've assumed it was someone doing it for attention, although there were signs of a break-in apparently, so that's very worrying. Hopefully she's found and not harmed.

not funny
Out of panic, twitter is probably still isn't the next best thing to 911. Screaming for help would be more logical, and more of a primal instinct as well, but unfortunately we don't know if she screamed for help or not, or if she was even able to.
If there is somebody in your house and your phone is in another room, probably safer to tweet than run out and sort of squeeze past this intruder as he comes along the hall way 'one second mate just let me call the police then we can get on with this abduction alright?'
You guys must have very loud phones if you think the guy would have heard her pressing 4 buttons.
how long did it take for someone to call 911
SAMUEL GUSKIND WE ARE NOT GOING OUT! stop taking to me in gym, stop looking for me after school, and leave me the fuck alone. YOU ARE SCARY!
Hmm...
*EDIT*
I just read a lot of people on one of the groups to find her saying she was found after her kidnapper turned himself in. Probably a load of rubbish though.
*EDIT2*
Just people being stupid and spreading false information without any kind of confirmation on whether it is real or not.
This was posted on the official town site 20 mins ago:
Clark Police Chief Alan Scherb tells Patch: "We still don't know whether she ran away or if there was any foul play. There are no obvious signs of a break-in and the home was not ransacked. The door was open. Kara, if you see this, please contact your parents or Clark Police. You will not be in trouble. We are concerned for your safety."
Scherb says the canine unit picked up her scent and walked the neighborhood but was broken off after not finding a further trail.
Scherb would not confirm whether or not Alongi's phone was found in the home.
Scherb says the Sheriff's Department is photographing the area, as is procedure. Police are talking to Alongi's friends and investigating all leads. Those with any information should call Clark Police at 732-388-3434.

how long did it take for someone to call 911
I doubt anybody did since teenagers are dickheads and if someone saw that it would seem like a joke
ha ha ha, pretending like she's in trouble, really funny! wait fuck she got kidnapped

Number one suspect detected.
You guys must have very loud phones if you think the guy would have heard her pressing 4 buttons.
She would've had to say something, I imagine.
Hey I live near that town and I know that girl.
All my social-networking accounts are swamped about posts about finding her.
She would've had to say something, I imagine.
She can whisper/speak quietly.
She can whisper/speak quietly.
And the the operator on the other end would ask her to talk louder.
She can whisper/speak quietly.
Or she could say nothing and just stay on the line, and optionally keep the phone in her pocket, which would be better than quickly tweeting (because you guys realized she probably used her phone to tweet this and not her computer) SOMEONES IN MY HOUSE CALL 911 and hoping other people who know your address will take it seriously and notify the police

Nothing suspicious here

quite a number of her tweets give an impression that she may not be the most liked person
"Sucks to be gay but pretend you aren't cause then you just look like a freak"
"all I want to do is prove that I'm right"
and then not to mention a bunch of coincidentally creepy ones now that she's MIA
"Am I dead"
"helpppppp pic.twitter.com/q5OKpa0K"
"waiting for this phone call is like death"
and then just weird ones
"there is no word in the english language to describe how sick I am right now sooo I'm just gonna say I'm sick as fuck balls shit nigger dick"
"almost blew the house up. but it's all gud"
I don't know why, but that's pretty creepy.
If you think tweeting about calling 911 was a better option than calling 911, you're out of your mind.
A girl like that is bound to have her phone next to her. Making noise is not a concern, the intruder clearly would've found her either way (see: what happened).
Also, jump out a window anyone?

There's no point debating on what would or wouldn't be the best course of action because you have no idea about what the was situation at all.

The situation was that she tweeted instead of calling 911. Though my comment was directed at those people who were advocating that tweeting was a reasonable thing to do.

We can make reasonable assumptions.

For one the tweet doesn't appear to be from a mobile phone, so she was likely at a desktop or something. If she happened to have left her phone downstairs her options would be pretty limited actually. Considering the most popular phone-from-desktop applications like skype and google voice don't allow for calls to 911, it was the most reasonable and possible solution from the most likely scenario
