It's not going to survive on exclusive content alone. If they're going to keep taking shit down then nobody's gonna be on Netflix anymore.
They're insane to think that they can turn Netflix into some type of "premium" subscription platform and strip away the movies. They're basically handing over the reigns to Hulu.
Seriously, it sounds like they want to be HBO or Showtime here and to be honest, their stuff just isn't on that level. Orange Is The New Black is the only decent Netflix original piece that I've seen. It won't work for them.
I'll be cancelling my Netflix once the movies dry up. No more Netflix and chill.
Yeah. I'm gonna cancel my netflix sub in a month or 2. At this point there's just not enough content to really watch for me.
If Netflix starts moving more things off of instant it's basically opening the doors to Hulu and Amazon Prime getting more money.
Hulu has ads tho which really turns me off and as far as I'm aware there's exclusive content on Hulu that isn't on Prime

Then you haven't seen much, honestly. I agree otherwise, but most of their original series are really good.
yeah netflix because i want to pay for multiple subscription services

I forgot about House Of Cards, which is admittedly a pretty solid show, but I still cling to my point.
Netflix became famous for movies. I feel they don't have /enough/ movies as it is (still wanna binge watch my Halloween or Friday The 13th) and now they're moving even further from it? I have Hulu. I like Hulu. I don't mind the ads and if they're going to give Hulu movies and the few shows I do enjoy, well, that's a few extra bucks I save monthly.
Shame though. I hope they reconsider.
Netflix already has a shit enough selection, what the fuck are they thinking?
If this doesn't affect television shows and only movies are being removed, then I couldn't care less. I never use Netflix to watch movies.

tbh, even if Netflix went magically bankrupt and exploded I'd still never go to Hulu
hulu is frankly a complete joke. I wouldn't pay a dollar a year for that. Last I saw it paid users still had forced, unskippable, ads, that couldn't be blocked.

If Hulu does detect you using Adblock, then it extends the commercial breaks for some ungodly reason.

and people wonder why I use more than adblock to block ads

They pulled down Taxi Driver a while ago.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK I was going to watch that.
Jesus they're not removing all their movies. Do anyone of you even care about Hunger games and Transformers? It sounds like they are shifting their business and trying to make their dollars go further by culling some expensive media that isn't as high value as what they could do with it. I'd rather have another House of cards than Transformers.
I honestly care more about television series & cartoons I wish there were more of those.
Okay, bottom line: Netflix can supply a good amount of really good exclusive content. However, if they shift their focus away from other movies and stuff to that, it's a mistake, honestly.
The whole reason I got Netflix was because, of all the streaming services in Australia, Netflix was the 'one-stop shop'. It has everything that everyone cares about. The other services are made up mostly of B-grade shit with a few good things here and there. The Netflix exclusives are great, but I dunno if I would have the patience for a Netflix subscription if there were little else of interest to watch in-between releases of those exclusives.
it was annoying when they pulled all of south park then hulu fucking got them.
I've been getting rather annoyed with Netflix lately. I've started seeing ads before and after movies for their own original programming. And the stuff they have been adding lately is not really that good IMO.
