My GTX 260 will climb to 60-70 degrees rapidly then the screen will go blue green or purple. Anyone know what's up with it?
For a start, is the fan working correctly?
yes
What type of case do you have? You could have a bad air circulation.
I have NZXT lexa s and i moved it yesterday to a better place it still happened.
When does the problem happen? Playing games? Just idling?
Well if it is bad circulation of air why is it dying at 60-70 when it can take 105 [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] it happens when its idle
If it's a bad circulation of air, it doesn't mean that it has to go to the top temperature, the air just might not be cold enough. That's what it sounds like to me anyway.
but it shouldnt die at 60

i have speccy and evga precision [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] Is it possible that when the gtx is idle and it brings its clock down, that it has a lower heat threshold?
q8300 quad 2.5, 4GB ram, cooler master 750 watt psu, 500 gb hardrive, gtx 260
Download furmark and run t for 10 minutes while logging the temp.
Download furmark and run t for 10 minutes while logging the temp.
i ran furmark got it to 91 then pressed escape [editline]13th October 2010[/editline]
Post Specs (including PSU) : http://www.piriform.com/speccy Post Load temps : http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
http://www.cubeupload.com/files/24121euntitled.png

Load temperatures are the temperatures when your pc is actually doing something (heavy). Open a game which makes your gpu hot, play it for a few minutes, quickly alt+tab to hwmonitor and then screenshot.
Open a game which makes your gpu hot, play it for a few minutes, quickly alt+tab to hwmonitor and then screenshot.
HWM saves the maximum reached temperature, so there is no need to be quick.
HWM saves the maximum reached temperature, so there is no need to be quick.
oh right, I always only look at the left value :v:

could attempt to replace the thermal paste, make sure to clean the old shit off with alcohol
