My onboard went bad, so I'm needing a new sound card, PCI interface, max $40, needs to have an audio out and an audio in at the very least. I'm in the US, Newegg is a good site.

Any other ideas? Looks, okay, but I'd like to hear someone's opinion.
Don't expect a great awesome sound card with that budget.
Any other ideas? Looks, okay, but I'd like to hear someone's opinion.
I've never owned one of those but I've heard good things about it. Now that they have Vista / 7 drivers for it I'd say it's a good buy.
I suppose I could raise my budget, max $120. Pay check comes Friday, so I'll order then.
Now THAT gives a lot of breathing room :D I'll edit in one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271001 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102006
Also, how does this look to you? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829114004 [editline]11:37PM[/editline] The thing, is, I know almost nothing about sound hardware, that's why I've needed the help. XD
I never really had any experience with USB Interface Sound Cards. Go for the Creative I posted.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102006
I have this one, it's good. Make sure you get the Alchemy software if you're running Vista / 7.
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829118105 I heard this is good.
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829118105 I heard this is good.
He lives in USA.
Change the CA to a COM.
Oh you. Going to have some trouble changing it to .com when it redirects you. Don't ya think? Just post a USA link you idiot.
Oh you. Going to have some trouble changing it to .com when it redirects you. Don't ya think?
Wait what? Change the ca in the url to a com. It works fine. Did you even try it?
Yup http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16829118105 Change to .com http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product...82E16829118105 Well look at that no work. (hint: the ... doesn't help)
I know. I meant click the link, then change the .ca to a .com.
-_- It redirects you and even if you change it then to a .com it doesn't work.
I got this thing. But with my new GTS 250 I don't got the room for it anymore. :( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829270006&Tpk=Siig%20Soundwave%207.1%20PCI Siig SoundWave 7.1 PCI, $34.99
-_- It redirects you and even if you change it then to a .com it doesn't work.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829118105 ORLY?
Damn, all that annoyance for a sub-par product.
What kinda of speakers are you using? A high end soundcard is useless unless you have the speakers to go with it. Other wise I says stick with Creative. I've had a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and now a X-Fi Xtreme and both are miles above onboard audio especially that RealTek HD garbage. If you are just looking to replace a fired sound then go for the Creative Audigy SE (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102003) like preveously posted. There are cheaper cards but better to spend $35 and get something that works than spend $20 on a piece of crap. If you do have some good speakers or want more then go for the Creative X-Fi Titanium (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102024) [editline]09:23PM[/editline] BUT if you are wanting a really cheap fix this may do it: $10 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829126005 I actually had that card to fix the sound in an old comp and didn't want to spend much on it. As far as I could tell it sounded alright compared to the motherboard sound.
I'll be going with the Creative. I've had a few of their speakers, and they've always been long-lasting, and certainly up to par. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102003 Until Friday, I orders a $5 piece of shit on ebay, that'll work via USB. It should be here tommarow.
