NOTICE: H1Z1 is in EARLY ACCESS which means you should expect pay-to-win airdrops and login server meltdowns.
Valve's copyeditor is slipping badly on catching these obvious errors.
Same team that made warz, or infestion.
Same team that made warz, or infestion.
Made by SOE. IE: People behind Planetside 2.
Same team that made warz, or infestion.
no?
only reason not to get it is because its pay to win now
Same team that made warz, or infestion.
I think this game looks like crap too but that's objectively false.
H1Z1 is a zombie survival MMO set in a post-apocalyptic world
Woah, that's pretty original I've never seen one of those games before.
YET Another zombie survival game
it looked like it could have been ok but pay2win is the biggest joke ever
also
This would be another game to talk about, when Warz and Dayz came out. I played the fuck out of both and I don't really feel like playing this one. They're too late.
Everyone who keeps saying Pay 2 Win are so god damn hilariously wrong it isn't even funny.
You pay for a crate with random goods. Its protected by zombies and dropped by a slow moving plane within 700 meters. There has to be at least 120 players on the server and any of them can spot the plane or its cargo and come steal the crate from you. The rarest loot is one pistol or one rifle from the crate.

The problem isnt the loot, its the concept, the fact that its even there means it could very easily escalate to "pay $20 now and receive a weapon crate ticket!!!!!!"
Not to mention a dev specifically stated such a thing would never happen, and here it is.
The fact that you can get your money straight up stolen in-game before you even get what you pay for just makes it worse.

We arguably don't have any ZSG what with none of them actually being a finished article?
Barring the excellent State of Decay they are all in various stages of beta, alpha or just shat out incomplete fuck it that will do style.

I FEEL SO FUCKING LIED TO IF ONLY THEY TOLD US IN AUGUST

That reveal looked so bad and amateursih, if they didn't bother why did they think to even release it?

Not a very good start.

But never in that reveal do they say you can get weapons from airdrops, or that you can pay for airdrops. Both of which matter since they said you can't pay for weapons. Both of which you are doing and getting here if you open the airdrop. It's their own damn fault people are bitching about this, since they didn't say jack shit about how airdrops worked before they said "YEAH WE ONLY SELL COSMETICS"
The game isn't pay to win.
You're buying an EVENT for 120+ players. You have 10% chance to get a shotgun or a pistol (WOOHOO, guess what they spawn out in the open).
Even if you get that 10% chance of getting a gun, it's not a huge advantage, I have 6 guns at my base without ever getting an air drop.
Anyone saying it's pay to win now just jumped on the hate wagon for this game.
If you actually get in to play this game, once you get the basics down and such, you'll find out it has a lot of potential, and is fun in it's current state.
And SoE is already releasing another patch. They posted 5 threads on reddit, some asking for more community feedback. They've shown they want to listen to the community a lot for this game.
they also said expect weekly updates/patches/bug fixes for the game.
The game has a lot of potential, don't listen to the people who don't understand the concept of the air drop and just think "omg you get a gun omg omg p2w". You can one shot people with bows in this game and you get that right at the start of the game.
So Airdrops in H1Z1 are equal to Piles of Gifts in TF2?
So Airdrops in H1Z1 are equal to Piles of Gifts in TF2?
Maybe a little more like the giftapult, only one person is gonna get the crate, and it's random for the server.
SoE has had to earn my trust back after the NGE patch that came without warning. So far the only thing they've really done was OMFG patches for Planetside 2. This shameless WarZ rip of a genre more used up than WW2 and it's Pay to Play A future F2P game with a stupid air drop system that sees you paying to get robbed is just... not helping
Fun little game, play with friends if you must.
Buy it if you are interested in the genre, don't if you aren't until its free.
As is stated, its in early access. It might be under scrutiny now but i'll hold my breath since its SOE and not some obscure studio.
the genre isnt an issue, the reason why people keep making the damned things is because no ones really made a good one yet
it's not a well known fact that the game genre's name is actually unfinished zombie survival crafting mmo
there's literally not even a single game of this genre that is worthy being called a released game - including certain games which are "released" but are pretty much still being developed because they are, in fact, not
the genre isnt an issue, the reason why people keep making the damned things is because no ones really made a good one yet
Yeah I'm sort of glad people keep making these games because it means we might get a good one eventually.
Though they could explore the idea of a post-apocalyptic survival MMO that involves something else than zombies.
the genre isnt an issue, the reason why people keep making the damned things is because no ones really made a good one yet
It would be nice if anyone could be bothered to actually finish their game before they decide to sell it.
Why do airdrops even drop guns? Wouldn't it make more sense to drop food and supplies instead of firepower? Unless the planes are operated by some sick fucks who love to see everyone shoot one another.
People are defending this game with their life, just admit you made a mistake by pre-ordering this shit.
pre-ordering this shit.
It's. Free.
It's. Free.
No it's not. At least not at the moment. Preordering in this context means paying for early access.
People are defending this game with their life, just admit you made a mistake by pre-ordering this shit.
I'm nearing 20 hours in this game, and the game has only been out for 3 days (2 if you're not counting the 15 with the login server overload).
I didn't make a mistake with this game, I've had some fun times with it already. Some of the bugs are hilarious, the bow feels rewarding, and I'm just now finding enough ammo to use my guns that i've found within the world.
Everyone really needs to get off this p2w/hate wagon going on, this game isn't bad. It's already better than several other zombie survival games in the genre. If you want an air drop, you're buying an event for the server. You can get better stuff in game by doing the hidden quest they have.

Uh
The early access buy-in is effectively a microtransaction, no less. jfc :v:
Trust SOE if you want to, but I'm not.
