I was thinking of building a new computer. It doesn't have to be super powerful, and I think I'll use a hard drive from an old prebuilt. And if possible, get it to about 500-600 bucks. I have an OS, monitor, KB&M. And its intended for moderate usage and light gaming Thanks in advance.
Do you need an OS?
Not if Vista from the drive will work.

What are you going to be doing with it? Do you need a keyboard, mouse, monitor, or OS? You can learn a lot on your own, we aren't going to do everything for you.

What games do you play? Any specific programs you use?

Are you talking Crysis-level graphics or Counter Strike-level graphics? Like any specific game names you know you will want to be playing? Like what's most important?

Perfect build and if need be you can eventually upgrade to an i5 2500k or ivy bridge processor if you ever need to. [editline]13th December 2011[/editline] Also the 6850 can run BF3 on medium at around 40 FPS, I might be able to bump it to a 560ti if needed but I don't think I can. lemme check prices. [editline]13th December 2011[/editline] If you want to go $30 over budget you can get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127616 and have a better GPU but the 6850 will do just fine for what you plan on doing.
