$500 Rig

I was thinking of building a new computer. It doesn't have to be super powerful, and I think I'll use a hard drive from an old prebuilt. And if possible, get it to about 500-600 bucks.

I have an OS, monitor, KB&M. And its intended for moderate usage and light gaming

What do you want the build to do? What are you going to be doing with it? Do you need a keyboard, mouse, monitor, or OS? You can learn a lot on your own, we aren't going to do [I]everything[/I] for you.

I play mostly mid-resource games. I'd like to get some sort of shooter to run well too.

The more specific you are the more accurate we can be. Are you talking Crysis-level graphics or Counter Strike-level graphics? Like any specific game names you know you will want to be playing? Like what's most important?

If possible, Battlefield 3 on pretty low-med settings, Fallout NV/3, and Kerbal Space Program.

Perfect build and if need be you can eventually upgrade to an i5 2500k or ivy bridge processor if you ever need to.

Also the 6850 can run BF3 on medium at around 40 FPS, I might be able to bump it to a 560ti if needed but I don't think I can. lemme check prices.

If you want to go $30 over budget you can get this [url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127616[/url] and have a better GPU but the 6850 will do just fine for what you plan on doing.
