Van Gogh had such style.
I was hoping it would be the one of the Tardis.
I was hoping it would be the one of the Tardis.
People think it's a building or castle in the far left corner, but in reality...

how does a van gogh painting stay hidden for 120+ years
how does a van gogh painting stay hidden for 120+ years

Ruger said the museum attributed the painting to van Gogh after "extensive research into style, technique, paint, canvas, the depiction, van Gogh's letters and the provenance."
They probably had it for a while, but hadn't confirmed if it was actually his or an imitation
how does a van gogh painting stay hidden for 120+ years
Very carefully.
how does a van gogh painting stay hidden for 120+ years
well it was theorized to be a work by van gogh for a while but there simply wasn't enough evidence (for one it didn't have a signature) to confirm it as such it was only recently that some very conclusive evidence was discovered to make a connection
how does a van gogh painting stay hidden for 120+ years
This happens quite often actually, pieces are found in private collections, old shops and the like. In this case, what was said above is probably true, the painting has been known but wasn't officially known to be legitimate.
That's quite a nice picture I'll say.
I call it Sunset, Funset.
I was hoping it would be the one of the Tardis.
It does rather look like the TARDIS in the left upper corner :v:
