I havn't drawn regularly in a few years now (with school and all).I used to be really good too, except all I could draw was cartoons (dogs and that kinda cool shit). So as a experienced yet unexpierenced artist I I ask facepunch. What are some tips on drawing people? I wanna be an artist again. Be prepared for questions.
Practice. :smugdog:
Yep, just draw tons of simple figures while focusing on proportion.

When I want to practice anatomy + proportions + poses , I always like to draw Olympic athletes.

At your local college?
It depends what you'd want to draw. I started drawing real folk recently. Sadly, I'm still quite slow, so I'm working from photos as opposed to real people, but I'm getting there.
I don't mean to realistic I can never get the body shape eyes and nose right
you have to learn proportions first, and how to properly balance human figures. generally, a problem i see with human drawings is that most people do not know how to balance the head with the body, and thus, it looks retarded.
you should also try to recall what you learned about the human body(if not, look up pictures of muscular men and women, that should be an easy basis) and learn to draw the muscular structure right.
Start drawing women, when they turn out hot you will want to make more.
You should first draw somekind of figures. After that work with proportions and finally add human features and possible perspective.
I could scan few from my sketch-book.

This is a basic human figure and proportions. The proportions are usually measured by size of the head. Adult's head is about 1/7 of the body. Usually children have larger head compared to rest of the body ( and small people ). The arms in the picture might be little too long, sorry.
