First off I want to note that I will not be using any designs made for anything other than to render them out for you.
This thread is going to be a little different than other Photoshop threads. Basically what I'm going to do is give you the template to a skateboard model I've got, and allow you to change the bottom "design" on the board. I'll then take your texture, and render the design onto the board and when you check back you will have a 3D model with your design on it.
[B]One thing I want to stress is that this isn't hard![/B] So don't be put off. One of my friends "Gambles" has kindly said he'll do an example so it's clear to understand what this thread is about.
So here is how it's done:
Take the following template and draw in the green lines of the top skateboard shape.

[release][B]And here are some guidelines you need to follow:[/B]
- You [B]MUST[/B] save the image out at the same size, it cannot be re-sized or it will not work.
- You should keep the format as .PNG so that no quality of the rest of the texture is lost.
- If you're doing anything with text or something you want to be the right way round flip the final result horizontally.
- You don't need to keep inside the green lines, so as long as it does not overlap the rest of the texture, however you will not see anything that isn't in the lines.
- Do not post stuff that took you two seconds, I'd at least like to see some creativity in this as it takes my time as well as yours.

I'm hoping I'm not banned for not contributing, as I contacted a mod before creation of this thread and mentioned I wouldn't. However, if it's required I'd love a mod to pm me and I'll make a contribution right away as I only textured this model for the sake of this thread - and it does require my time for each contribution.

It's fine, however a little choppy round the edge where you've left some space but it doesn't look bad!

Thread isn't to comment on my model. I know it's not the best, I mentioned that in the OP I think. Thank you for the criticism though.

dude, this is awesome idea :) i like it and your renders are nice...but you could put more effot in the board model, make it little bit narrower and bend the ends little more...and wheels would look better if white..
just my few cents, and try to put some refelction on the material of the botttom texture and some more bump mapping on the top...that would look good....

I actually agree, changing up the wheel color to match the design would be cool.

Griptape. The only way I could do that (I think) is by changing the whole texture which would require me to change this thread.
