A police officer strangled a businessman he had met as part of a cannibalism fetish before dismembering him with an electric saw for a sexual thrill, a German court heard.
Detlev Guenzel and his victim are said to have met through an internet forum devoted to cannibalism which offered users the opportunity to “take the experience beyond fantasy”.
After exchanging violent sexual fantasies online the 59-year-old victim, a businessman from Hanover who prosecutors said fantasised about being eaten, agreed to meet at Guenzel’s bed and breakfast, south of Dresden.
The prosecution accepts there is no evidence Guenzel, a police handwriting expert, ate any part of his victim but maintains that after murdering him he filmed himself cutting up the body.

jesus fuck
Hardcore.
Fuck, that is pretty fucking extreme.
what in the fuck
i know that people are fucked enough to be sexually interested in themselves getting cut apart and eaten but i dont understand why it's something you'd bring into reality because you'll be dead long before you actually get to experience the part you're interested in
so its like, what, getting off to thinking it's going to happen, with only one opportunity ever, and then after that you dont get to experience it or nothing else ever again
youd think youd get more enjoyment out of just the thought of it in the long term
reminds me of the story mein teil is based off of

Some people are too stupid to know where to draw the line and don't totally think it through.
Germans can be pretty damn weird
"If it is consentual, why is it wrong?"

Metal as fuck dude
"If it is consentual, why is it wrong?"
Because you can't legally consent to being killed and eaten.
Rammstein is going to need more inspiration than this for their next album.

Answering "Why is it wrong" with "Because of the law" is never a good idea.
Say it's wrong for the same reason we don't let depressed 16 year olds kill themselves. Not only are you really not helping yourself, but you're burdening others tremendously in many ways.
Because you can't legally consent to being killed and eaten.
But... why?
Actually it's pretty obvious why
I'm normally tolerant of most fetishes because I know the stuff is usually consensual between the participants and the fetishes ultimately don't harm anyone physically and/or psychologically (sure some fetishes leave you scratching your head wondering how these people get off to it and/or are popularly mocked on the internet like vore, inflation, etc. but again since they're ultimately based on fantasy [and should stay fantasy] then they're still okay). But stuff like this where I draw the line: when people have no sense of telling reality from fantasy, it's non-consensual, and/or people end up getting harmed physically and/or psychologically.
Well tbh from the sounds of that website something like this was bound to happen. Having a website that lets people "exchange violent sexual fantasies about cannibalism" will most definitely not attract people of a mentally sound state. You cannot honestly expect that eventually people from this site will not meet. Of course two people psychologically ill enough to not only browse the website, but want to meet another person from the website, is an inevitable recipe for disaster.
There are good chances that a 59 year old businessman was bored of or painted by life enough to allow the masochistic thrill overcome what remained of self preservation instinct.
What I mean is that MIGHT have been more of an assisted suicide which he was at least expecting to enjoy some too.

But sometimes people just decide they want to die. The guy who got killed did nothing worse than somebody who silently hangs themselves or jumps off a bridge. There might have easily enough been reasons beyond fetishism.

Maybe I am weird but to me neither of these guys are near as bad as for instance violent rapists, and these are sadly dime a dozen. I don't condone what they did but I have empathy for them, still, and I think there's things to learn and study here.
I read the thread title and I thought "What the hell is a cannabis website?"
Then I read it again, and saw it was cannibalism, which I considered more logical until I realized fucking "cannibalism website".

Wasn't that in some show?

German cannibalism? Post Rammstein.
Because you can't legally consent to being killed and eaten.
Why not?
Didn't this happen before in Germany?
From what I can tell, it was consensual, and as long as this was consenting, I don't see the big deal.
But I can't prove that it was consensual without a shadow of a doubt. And so there is room for the possibility that the "victim" didn't want to die. Maybe he wanted to get chopped up just a little (yeah that's a crazy idea, but so is assisted suicide via cannibalism)
Why not?
Under English law, you can't consent to any harm.
Under English law, you can't consent to any harm.
That's obviously not true. You can consent to kinky sex, to being operated on in hospital and to medical drugs trials.
Sounds like some good fun !! Germans are pretty cool people it seems like, I should stick with the local police more often when I drive through a part of Germany to go to work, I'd love getting dismembered one day !

I realise that. Why not?
