• How do I limit the speed of downloading?
    18 replies, posted
My sister usually puts some stuff to download around 1:00 AM and I'm usually up at that time playing WoW (I'm not supposed to be up, so I guess it's a form of punishment(???)) Is it possible to limit the speed that the downloading program downloads at? I don't have access to my her router.
192.168.1.1 192.168.0.1 192.168.2.1 Try each of those in your address bar, and you'll have access to your router.
You two don't use the same router? Also, what is that avatar that looks sorta like a fox thing that I keep seeing here?

She accesses the router with a CD, username and password and standalone software that's not supplied by the router company. I have a basic knowledge of this stuff, and if I could believe me I would just kick her off the network if i could.
Go into her computer and limit it manually through uTorrent or whatever she uses.
Slap her in the face.
Go into her computer and limit it manually through uTorrent or whatever she uses.
That's probably what I'll end up doing. How do I do that though? What option? Can I also stop the uploading if she's dling warez?

That will make everything for her frustratingly slow, and chances are she won't know how to fix it.
Tell her to go back to the kitchen (User was banned for this post ("Meme" - verynicelady))

Well you shouldn't really have a problem with the down portion of it. The main thing that would make your game lag is the up portion. I would limit the upload speed around those times. Utorrent has an option that set schedules for when to download things. Check that option too.
And if she uses firefox and spends all the bandwidth on downloading, youtube and stuff like that, there's a plugin that can limit upload/download rates. I don't remember the name right now, just google it.
How about you stop wasting her bandwidth with a bad MMO?

What gives you the right to limit her from downloading shit so you can play WoW? You already stated that you shouldn't be up at that time, so just suck it up. Anyone who disagrees is Blizzard's bitch.
NetLimiter?
