Waking from hibernate wakes for 2 seconds, then goes black?

Whenever I wake my computer up from hibernate, it will stay like normal until it reaches the user sign in page. After about 2 seconds, my screen just goes black. If I turn my monitor on, I can see the page again for another 2 seconds, followed by it shutting down yet again. This also happens if my monitor is turned off by the power saving utility.

This happens for me sometimes. Try starting it up again after it turns off again

It's just the screen. The computer and everything is functioning, and I refuse to turn off my computer and turn it back on every day, even though that's what I think I'm going to have to do.

Are the monitor drivers up to date?

eg dont touch the computer for 5 minutes, monitor goes to sleep
