Friend is looking for a new computer, he was planning on 8GB of RAM, GTX470 etc etc when he dosen't need 8GB of RAM so I decided to post on here to see what kind of build he can get for around £700. I would like (for his sake) a decent PSU (because I think he may go for a HongHai or some other no-name) and a blowing GPU. Should be able to play all games on high. I most likely sound like a prat, but thats what he wants, and I'm shit at choosing components (been out the loop recently) and want the Facepunch opinion. Thanks guys, UK only, so no Newegg :saddowns:. Prefer it to be all from 1 store.
do you need OS, optical drive, HDD etc.
do you need OS, optical drive, HDD etc.
Yes, Hard disk can be any size above 500GB, and Windows 7 would be sexidecimal. Optical drive would be helpful since he buys games on DVDs

Personally I'd get a 470 and 955 as it should perform better
Just found out my other friend has MSDN, no need for a Windows 7 install. What could I improve with £70? [editline]4th November 2010[/editline] http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/7ab7b83b64b24f4cb456b4ef6b7b0de1 Yo, i7 represent
I'd suggest getting a modulair PSU.
why?
Since the difference in price is usually small and it gives you a neater case with less cables running around.
Ok, thanks reapaninja, you've helped a good load. I'll speak to him tomorrow and see what he wants. Thanks, I'll keep you posted.
