First is 5-hours ish with some backtracking, and missing out an optional 'very hard' area.
I have 5 hours into Breath of Death and I must say this is pretty fun. Get it.
Definitely worth it. Cthulhu Saves the World saves the world is really fun and also pretty funny.
I bought it thinking it'd be an enjoyable parody of old JRPGs. I played it and it reminded me why I stopped playing JRPGs. :v: It's not a bad game, just not my thing. Nice sprites though!
Cthulhu Saves The World is absolutely awesome. But really, 50% off? It was like €2 already.

Random encounters only occur spontaneously in each area a certain amount of times (so that you can eventually explore without being pecked to death if you wish to), HP restores after battles (placing a heavier emphasis on MP), and carrot-and-stick mechanics are in place to ensure that routine battles won't turn into tedious drawn out affairs.

I always hated wandering around in games like Pokemon or Final Fantasy because every 3 steps you'd get a battle.
