The far-right party fielded just eight candidates this election, securing zero MPs and being beaten by Cannabis Is Safer Than Alcohol and Monster Raving Loony Party. It was the second least popular party ahead of Class War. The BNP fell apart following the exit of leader Nick Griffin last year, but somehow managed to find a silver lining on Twitter this morning, writing: "Wonder how many other political parties will come out of this election in profit. We haven't played their game and we are getting stronger!"

Monster Raving Loony Party
Is this for real, did they get beaten by a joke party?
Yes, and here are their candidates:
Howling Laud – Uxbridge and South Ruislip Baron Von Thunderclap – Mid Sussex Johnny Disco – Wythenshawe and Sale East Peter E. Hill – Louth and Horncastle Nick the Flying Brick – Doncaster North Nicholas Robert Blunderbuss Green – Kenilworth and Southam The Dame Dixon – Hove and Portslade Mad Max Bobetsky – North East Hampshire Mark Beech – Aldridge and Brownhills Ann Kelly, The Mid Bed Minx – Mid Bedfordshire Baron Barnes Von Claptrap – Gower, South Wales. Mad Hatter – Oxford East Mad Mike Young – Sittingbourne and Sheppey Hairy Knorm Davidson – Faversham and Mid Kent Baron Von Magpie – Islwyn George Ridgeon – Gloucester

Is this for real, did they get beaten by a joke party?
I imagine all the voters for the BNP jumped ship to UKIP as they seemed a bit more legitimate/likely to get seats. Also the Monster Raving Loony Party is the most well known of the joke parties so it usually gets a fair few votes.
UKIP is a cleaner looking and less overtly awful version of the BNP with a more charismatic beer drinking (former) leader. Of course BNP voters jumped ship.
Wow, I had no idea that the 'Election Night Special' Monty Python sketch was based off of reality.
Is this for real, did they get beaten by a joke party?
What do you mean? The BNP are a joke. [editline]8th May 2015[/editline] Also, bear in mind that the Lib Dems got beaten by the MRLP in one area.

Is there seriously a party called "Class War"? What the hell?
Who is responsible for this awful editing?
Obviously an immigrant, duh.
Is nobody wondering how a party can get a 99.7% drop? I'd expect that more than 0.3% are oblivious to what they are voting for

Wait. What is wrong with public schools, exactly?
Wait. What is wrong with public schools, exactly?
In Britain, we call super expensive private schools "public schools" because of historical reasons.
Good.
In Britain, we call super expensive private schools "public schools" because of historical reasons.
And what do you call public schools then?
And what do you call public schools then?
State schools usually.
And what do you call public schools then?
Comprehensive Schools.
And what do you call public schools then?
Knife addled rape sheds.

My understanding of the naming scheme is: Government-run public education = "state" schools, run by the state. Attendance was at one time determined by location of residence, IIRC (you went to the local state school). Private rich-kid schools = "public" schools, as paying for these meant being able to choose to attend regardless of place of residence, rather than the school the government said you went to because you lived near it. However, I am a frost-bitten husky vassal from the icy colonies, so I imagine I've gotten something wrong.
