"Weird Al" Yankovic's latest album, Mandatory Fun, saw a #1 debut today on Billboard's Top 100 chart, making it Yankovic's first #1 album, and the first comedy album to reach the spot since 1960's The Buttoned Down Mind Of Bob Newhart.
The success of the album comes in part from Al's "8 Videos In 8 Days" campaign, in which a new music video was released online daily for eight days straight.
The album is absolutely brilliant, and Al has spent the morning on Twitter, thanking his fans for making this happen.

His gigantic fanbase and multiple Grammys beg to differ.
Edit: How exactly is this post "late?"

it's a god damn impostor, he's not the real yankovic
wake up sheeple
Being a business major, Mission Statement was downright hilarious. Though I loved Word Crimes a lot too.
You sound a bit paranoid. Might I interest you in a hat made of aluminum foil?

Mission Statement is an absolutely flawless Crosby, Sills, Nash, and Young pastiche. The subject matter is appropriately absurd and out of place. Easily one of his best tracks.

Haha, they can't trick me!
I have a foil hat!
Can't disagree there. Now That's What I Call Polka is a fine remix

Eh, I think it's one of his weaker polka mash-ups.

I also really liked Lame Claim to Fame (which I think is from Mandatory Fun), the beat is really quite catchy.
This aluminum foil shit got me on the edge of my seat I tell ya
Is it just me or is Weird Al completely immune to aging? I think he might be a Time Lord.
'He who gives up on Weird Al gives up on life.'
Gotta hand it to him, he's been doing this shit since the 80's and he still hasn't lost it.
Good on him
He sold 100,000 to get this number one. A number one album is a number one album, but then again it's like being the biggest fish in a very tiny pond.
Word Crimes sates the inner grammar Nazi inside
Inactive is my fave
I still remember seeing him live when Straight Outta Lynwood just came out. God damn, he is amazing.

He's also a Facepunch member named Chickens!.

My Bologna was recorded in a bathroom, with a single accordion and no band, in 1978.

And Another one rides the bus was recorded live on the Dr. Demento show
His stuff is truly timeless, I know I'll be showing my grandkids his stuff.

If we are going to argue about his best polka.

Alternative Polka best polka.

I only got into FOIL in comparison to his other songs.
Royal is such a fucking overplayed song in Calgary radio stations, and I worked with "party girls" and preppy guys and they came over the song all the time. Al did good work parodying it.

If anything, he's aging in reverse. He looked way older with his poodle hair, moustache, and glasses back in the 80's and early 90's.
He's pretty much got that Benjamin Button disease.
