The swearing-in signals the end of two months of political deadlock. Away from the ceremony, outside the PM's office, two police officers were injured in a shooting incident. One was shot in the neck and is described as being in a serious condition.
So one is in critical condition but what happened to the second one? Is he okay?

I don't really understand the significance of this, or it may have something to do with me being from America where officers get shot all the time.
Politically motivated
Not really, this guy was unemployed and desperate, also probably had some kind of mental issues, that's probably why he shot the 2 officers. This isn't the 70s anymore.
I'm italian, and I've been following the news about this since it happened this morning. The shooter's brother reported that his brother was unemployed since last August and claimed that his brother's doesn't suffer from any mental issues. At this point I'm not really sure what made the shooter shoot the 2 officer, but I'm completely sure it isn't politically motivated. Also in Italy it was during the 70s that we had the peak of politically-motivated violent actions by various extremist groups.
no, it's most likely politically motivated. just because he's unemployed doesn't instantly mean he has mental issues. i don't know what the 70's have to do with anything, politically motivated murder is not unheard of in 2013.
if your smiling like that with your head pinned to the ground, you have mental issues

Rome Prosecutor Pierfilippo Laviani said he "wanted to shoot politicians, but given that he couldn't reach any, he shot the Carabinieri". The Mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno said: "It's not an act of terrorism but certainly the [political] climate of the past few months has not helped."
Do you guys not read the article at all? Either he is lying, or it was politically motivated as he said.
Do you guys not read the article at all?
