In Nintendo's continuing trend of handheld consoles, they have been one generation behind from their current TV console. By these standards, they should be releasing a new handheld console with GameCube graphics right about now, not creating newer versions of the same console.
But a larger screen seems pretty nice. Would be cool to see and try, but not to own.
Isn't there another DS (Not this) that's supposed to come out in 2010 or whatever?

I bought a DS Lite this weekend.
Why do people hate on Nintendo so much?
It seems like a lot of you don't understand why they would do something like this despite it clearly being mentioned in the article.
This was actually the only gripe I had with buying a DS for my parents since they have a hard time reading small print. I've tried to share games like Brain Age with my dad, who is 72, but he has a very difficult time reading the screen. This will hopefully help him and I can finally give my parents a DS to take with them when they go traveling.

Are you stupid, OP? It's the same thing, at the same price, except it's only slightly larger to target the older audience. What's wrong with that? All they're doing is making it more accessible; they're not trying to milk you of all your money. It's not really a *new* DSi, it's more like a customized current-gen DSi. They're not forcing you to buy it.

I'm quite content with my DSlite, thank you very much, Nintendo. If you keep on doing that without creating a new hand held console, no one is going to buy a DS anymore

I've learnt from nintendo that it's never a good idea to buy the first release of one of their handhelds. They usually upgrade it a year or two later into something that is so much better it makes you sad that you didn't wait for it.
Bigger buttons? Good for me with my huge hands.
I love my red Lite.
