What file types do DVD players accept? I am trying to burn a movie to a DVD. Does regular .avi work? Or do I need to convert it to something else? Thanks. Also it is not a blu-ray player.
It really comes down to what codecs your DVD player supports.
So basically if your DVD player has the DivX or XviD logo on it somewhere it should play an .avi file, however some may not work.
Each DVD player is different, however they should all display what file types can be played somewhere on the player itself. Either on the top or front.
The safest option if it doesn't have codec support, is to convert the file to the DVD format with a program such as ConvertXtoDVD.
Thanks I will test it now.
