This thread is just a bit of fun for Americans or Europeans out there who frequently use American currency. As you've probably figured out, this thread is about these odd things: Yup, for those who don't know, two dollar bills do exist and really are legitimate US currency, even if they are rarely seen in circulation under normal circumstances. It currently has the oldest design currently being used in US currency (pun half intended). It's also in my opinion one of the better looking designs seen on US currency, which tends to be relatively boring otherwise. Because they are so uncommon, $2 bills have been used by some business to demonstrate their impact on the local economy, using them to pay their employees and noting the number in circulation in a given area. Some say they are also favored by strip clubs, as handing them out as change increases tips for dancers and bartenders over time. Anyway, back on topic. How many two dollar bills have you seen or used lately?
I went to a bank once and got like eight 2-dollar bills.
I've only ever had one, and I lost it. :frown:
loonies and toonies fuck bitches get paid
I have 5 of these in my desk.
i have one that i don't want to spend
thats how candians roll yo
I have three or four of these things.
Some dumbshit at the gas station wouldn't take it when I had one years ago.
I have a shitload of them and I'm not spending them.
The design of that specific 2 dollar bill dates back to 1976.
I have a bunch of these. I got the bank to give like 10 of these for a 20 before they stopped producing them. [editline]03:53PM[/editline] Well, before they stopped mass producing them I guess.
They're really not that rare. I mean my dad got like $250 worth of 2 dollar bills from the bank, so he could pay for the bus ride to work easier for $4.
Some dumbshit at the gas station wouldn't take it when I had one years ago.
That's against the law. You could have phoned the police.
This reminds me of a story my uncle told me of how he used to wipe his ass with 2 dollar bills and leave them in the street for people to pick up. Called it the Poo Dollar Bill. :smug:
The whole time I was working at Circle K I got only 3, I swapped them out for ones and kept them.
It's a shame that the $2 bill isn't used anymore, I've always liked the back design on it. Same with the 50 cent piece, I don't think anyone uses them any more.
T Jeff needs to be on more money
That's against the law. You could have phoned the police.
lol no it isn't a shop is a private establishment they could demand you pay in pennies or bananas if they felt like it
I had one. I got it years and years ago and stuck it in a book to keep it flat. Haven't seen it since.

I have a ton of coins that date back to the early 1920s and late 1890s.
The design of that specific 2 dollar bill dates back to 1976.
How come it looks like it says 2003 in the OP's image?
I got one somewhere.
There's also $1000 bills I think, only a few of them exists
Its beautiful.
what
Shops are allowed to determine what they will and will not accept. For instance a lot of stores don't accept $2 bills because of the inherent difficulty of spending them elsewhere.
what
thanks for the great contribution there champ bet you're a hit at parties just wander over to where other people are talking and yell "WHAT"
I have a single $2 bill, never gonna use it, even though they aren't that rare.
