Mainly due to the fact that there are so many people ignorant enough to say she can't sing or uses nothing but autotune, I felt it was mandatory to post this.
Personally, I love this song and the way she sings it live is absolutely beautiful and touching. She's got an amazing voice and if you can't hear it, you might be deaf.
I quite like Lady GaGa, because she's very talented. She's a great musician.
Who are you referring to that said she could not sing? I honestly never even saw anything said like that here before, and this is Facepunch. Besides, her music is popular.
Is her hair a bow?
It's because people think all pop/catchy music is automatically shit and talentless. I find her much better than any other pop artist I've heard.
There are many people who can sing very well, and play basic piano stuff that she is playing. That's not why she's famous.
I dont give a fuck whether she can sing. Her music annoys me, and is way overplayed. That's why I don't like her.
I actually like her stuff :ohdear:
She is a good artist with a good voice but I hate the overdone Avant Garde pop shit she does.
she's no better than a kid in high school chorus. this ain't no Great Gig in the Sky
Alejandro is the only song by her I will listen to willingly :colbert:
And Taylor Swift is better.
Is her hair a bow?
Nah, it's cotton candy.
I've never heard her use autotune. Well, not in the way T-Pain uses it, anyway. As for her voice, meh.

Really? Okay.
I already knew she could sing, she actually has talent, but I still don't like her usual music, this is not her usual music, this is a lot less pop.

Just about every popular is auto-tuned to some extent. People make it out to be way worse than it really is. It's just a method of mastering the vocals so it sounds perfect, which is the way studio songs should sound.

People hate it because its not real talent. They shouldn't be popular if they don't have actual talent.

Most talented singers can't hit every note with 100% precision. Auto-tune just makes it precise so the end package is completely polished. Auto-tune rarely is used to completely correct a person's singing, although that's what it's most famous for. It's like adding an effect, it's there to improve the sound.
Also, even if it takes no talent, it still doesn't matter. The end package should be all that matters. Painters use "shortcuts" to make their paintings, why can't a singer use "shortcuts" to make their art? I will agree that a lot of songs that are auto-tuned simply to make a horrible singer sound good are bad, but simply because that person is generally putting out generic shit that will sell or get radio play. Those songs are also often written by someone who isn't the artist, and that can take a lot of soul and spirituality from a song(a singer has the best time singing his own stuff).
All in all, don't hate music because it's auto-tuned, because auto-tune is just a tool, like reverb, distortion and phasers. Listen to what sounds good, not what takes most talent to make(punk rock, for example, takes very little "talent", and in fact often times sounds better with lower "talent" musicians).
Who the hell thinks Lady Gaga can't sing?
Guess what. Justin Bieber can sing. Very well. You guys are probably still going to hate him though.

By the way you can auto-tune a song live. So it's even possible that all that is still auto-tuned. I'm not a music expert(yet) so I don't know how to tell if it's auto-tuned or not.
Some one should turn off auto tune half way thru a song just for jokes.
She's a good singer, and some of her songs are pretty creative, but I'm just not a fan. Don't particularly like or dislike her stuff.

Depending on what they use and how well she normally sings, there are times when you just can't tell in the final mixdown of it. (I believe [At least that's what some claim])
I'm not trying to make anyone like her, obviously everyone has her own tastes and that's fine with me because chances are, I like most of the music anyone in here listens to. However, I have seen posts all around that she can't sing at all, and that's clearly not so.
I like her because she has a great voice, as far as pop goes, she has great lyrics and good songs, I think she's absolutely gorgeous, and very talented.

I spent my entire high school career in music classes(My high school had a class called school of rock, it was actually a really great class, got to make bands and play gigs, it was sweet.) and I have only heard 2 people sing as well as that, and I did grow up with a lot of talented singers.

Weird, but I disagree with the Taylor bit.

People hate justin beiber because he's a puppet. Not because he actually has talent, but because he's a total fucking tool, in the literal sense of the word. He didn't pick this career, and he doesn't write his own lyrics or songs, and has no greater artistic vision, he's literally what the producers and record execs WANT him to be.
That's why most people hate him, Lady Gaga on the other hand, clearly is herself. Love it or hate it, she's herself.

Obviously, but it still counts towards something.
She's famous for a number of reasons, her voice did help her get where she is though.

Yes, autotune is no worse than punching in on a studio recording. It's the same thing, practically. If you had a dozen takes, and one was perfect except for a few notes, you can bet your ass the producer would have those notes autotuned. It's a Protools plugin, it's meant to be used in the studio. I have no doubt that Lady Gaga's studio recordings use at least some autotune, but it's not used for effect, as it is in T-Pain's music. I consider the musical effect of autotune to be valid, too, as it makes a particular sound. They're not necessarily bad, they're just different.
Well, she has a good voice, but her writing makes me want to scoop my eyes out with a melon baller and pour salt into the sockets.

I disagree. her songs on their own aren't all that great(Some are, but they're pop lyrics, she's limited greatly) but some of them have deeper meanings than most people realize.
[editline]11:01PM[/editline]
And her videos add to that.

Well, if she plays acoustically on her own, its decent, but the obnoxious pop music is unbearable.
She can sing. I just don't like her music.
Don't call my name, don't call my name ALEJANDRO!
Jesus christ that song is fucking awful, but it sticks to my head for days. Like all of her songs. I don't like them the least bit, but they stay in my head and it drives me crazy.
I don't like her music, but Poker Face is sexy
