Source Basically somebody took 2 lcds, framed them, hooked them to a computer which in turn is hooked up to a wiimote, which tracks your movement with an IR receiver necklace you're wearing and changes the point of view to a looping video of a landscape accordingly. Pure awesome.
Epic
Holy shit.
I hate my life. *Smack!* [editline]06:18PM[/editline] lol baby-mote.
I imagine this will be similar to the windows of the future
WTF? In a good way of course
Now apartments can be in the center of a building and still have a view!
I'll take 20!
I thought it was cool until I saw all the work that had to be done and the stupidly huge necklace tracker thing
Holy shit.
Simply awesome
Well I guess its time to take up woodshop...
Awesome, but even the tiny amount of imperfection in the view makes me feel kinda weird :saddowns:
I want one that allows me to look into a room filled with nude women
Johnny Chung Lee did this a while ago. Nice to see someone make something cool out of this concept. Also, this is unrelated, but it's another cool thing Lee did with the Wii. No parallax is failure.
Wow that's awesome. They should get a webcam and make them mirrors.
Should have incorporated the wii-mote into the wall too.
That's amazing.
When Natal is released it should be much easier to do something similar since it provides 3D head position like the Wiimote does, but you don't need a infrared LED goggle/necklace/etc.
Wonder what resolution the videos would need to be. Looks like they're pretty good quality too.
The next step is that livewebcams, with remote control movement, get networked in. Imagine for instance an array of webcams on the beach in Hawaii. You choose which feed you want. Then the cam's network analyzes the movement commands sent in by each viewer in real time. The most in demand movement is the one that is used. So if everyone tries to zoom in on a hot chick's ass, it happens! I love technology.
Oh man that's amazing.
That's incredible. Seriously.
Both videos are the same..
Accidentally copied the same link. Fixed.
Substitute for those who don't have the budget for a green screen. Great use for filmmaking and tricking your family and friends.
awesome
No parallax is failure.
Yea, makes it seem like a scrolling painting rather than an actual window
Cool
