I thought this movie was brilliant. Greatly fleshed out characters, no oversimplifying things. Anybody else seen it?
Also, for people that HAVE seen the movie, [sp]there's a small clip after the credits. Check it out on youtube.[/sp]
Have a trailer becuz i'm such a bro

I'll have to consider watch this, a guy fighting wolves? badass.
Oh so this is the movie where Qui Gon Jinn beats up wolfs because they took his daughter. Im seeing this tomorrow, looks badass
Liam never fails to deliver. Will def see this.
It's getting pretty positive reviews as well.

Kinda funny how [sp]nearly all the clips are from either close to the beginning or end. The most "trailer" clips ive seen are from the final scene in the movie.[/sp]
I saw this today. Twas pretty good albeit I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the ending.

Actually, no, just the after credits part
If you are expecting an action movie, it's not. This movie a amazingly crafted melancholic survival movie. Very sad, gritty, gory, and realistic. Very cold, figuratively and literally (huhuh), although it does have some funny dialogue to ease the sadness and hopelessness. Very good actors too, only recognizable person is Liam Neeson. Also the movie has a lot of horror aspects, keeps you on edge for a lot of the time, and there are some moments that make you shit your pants.
I sort of feel bad for the parents who brought their kids thinking it was going to be an R rated cool action movie, the movie is brutally real and no bullshit about things, you are most likely going to die a horrible death if you are in that type of situation.
I thought the whole movie was very well made, doesn't feel like one of those modern bullshit money grabbing movies. Very artistic and pure in a way, if you know what I mean. I also loved the camera work especially when [sp]Diaz, after realizing he's going to die, he sits calmly on a log admiring the amazing Alaskan scenery while thinking that if he survived he would have a shitty boring life anyways, and how he can't compare to the scenery before him. It's just a him sitting there with the camera behind him for a good 30-50 seconds before him saying he isn't afraid to die. [/sp] I thought that was an amazing part and I usually never see such subtle emotional moments like that in movies anymore.

The [sp]plane crash[/sp] scene couldnt have been done any better. I sat there half breathing because it felt like i was damn near there.
Looks crap tbh
Looks crap tbh
Not really... Looks awesome.
I thought this movie was going to be absolute shit from the trailers. Another case of a poorly done, misleading ad. Drive had this problem too.
So glad my bro dragged me to this. Def worth the watch.
Amazing how so many people have been put off by the trailer, I include myself in that. So far I've not heard a bad word about this flic so I will go check this out too. I just hope its not as bad as that toilet film 'unknown' which had such potential.
It is in fact loads better than unknown
Just got back from it, all I have to say is damn that was a REALLY good movie + that ending.
Also got a lot of complaints from customers at work because [sp]the ending didn't show him fight the wolf[/sp]
Which I find hilarious because they missed the point of it entirely

At first I didn't really like the ending, but the more I thought of it I don't see how it could have ended any other way.

one of my favorite aspects about this movie is watching it with the knowledge that even though you may not see them, or hear them in any given scene, the wolves are ALWAYS THERE
fuck wolves man
Fantastic film, especially considering nothing good ever comes out in January. Loved every minute, especially the ending.

Holy shit, reading the comments people have wrote on this is some of the dumbest shit I've read. Don't read them if you haven't seen the movie cause they are all spoilers, but shit. Too many people bitching about how [sp] you don't see him fight the wolf and everybody dies[/sp]. If you're going to see it don't expect a heroic action movie, because it's really not that. It's way more about survival and desperation, and they did a really good job at it. Throughout the whole movie it just gives off that sense of how vulnerable people really are.
Gonna watch it this Friday. Any hints as to how brutal we're talking?

Dont bring anyone who is a hollywood action junkie. It's more of an "artistic" movie compared to all that. That being said, it's pretty bleak.
Also, badass line of the year: [sp]Fuck faith, earn it![/sp]
...
[sp]I'll just do it myself.[/sp]
The film has a good story but I think they blow the aggressiveness of wolves way out of proportion. In real life wolves will usually flee from people first thing they sense them unless the animals are really desperate.
well duh
jaws had the same problem but you don't hear many people complaining about how unrealistic the shark acted
Lol you have a goodpoint there. Silly me comparing the film industry to reality.

did you miss the part of the movie (aka 99% of it) that talks about how [sp]they're in the areas of attack and the whole point is to get out[/sp]?

Ok I will admit I haven't seen the film, I normally wouldn't judge a film before seeing it but because I'm saving money currently, I decided it would be easier to just go with what Wikipedia and the trailers tell me for now. Guess I'll have to torrent it sometime soon to see how it really plays out.
