10$ pay-pal to the person who helps me get this laptop up and functional.
I have a partition from a laptop, I need this partition to be moved to a net-book and work exactly as if it were on the other laptop.
I have the partition moved. when it starts i see the xp screen for a second and then it blue-screens.
Right now I'm trying to repair it using xp setup, but i have to do it through USB.
Any ideas?
Did you use CloneZilla to make a copy of the entire drive, including the partition table?
What was your process in moving the partition?
Made a complete copy using @active boot disk (http://www.ntfs.com/boot-disk.htm)
Popped the image onto a external.
Loaded up Active-boot on the netbook and copied the image over using active boot.
The repair from the xp install disk should fix it.

Agree. What is the blue-screen stop code?
The blue screen is way to fast to read, I'm going to get a external cd-drive soon. Will post results.
It could be due to drivers, where its looking for your old laptops hardware and it has no idea what the fuck to think when it cant find the laptops hardware

If i repair it with windows setup should the drivers be put in though?
um im pretty sure youll have to put a fresh copy of xp on there because certain things that are computer specific are loaded onto the copy on the laptop you have now and wont work with the netbook
As said above, it is impossible to copy a Windows install from one computer to another one running entirely different hardware. You'll have to reinstall, I'm afraid.
I was afraid of that. Thanks guys, looks like I have to move the programs manually.
