This is the N1 Moon Rocket made by the soviets as an attempt to reach the moon before the Americans.
This project took 15 hours starting on May 26th and ending May 31st, each shape being a brand new layer. There ARE 656 individual layers that make up this rocket. From the individual Struts that make up the sections, to the bigger background pieces. With every layer being manipulated to produce exactly the shape that i wanted to see out of that section.
Using only the technical drawings of N1 Rocket (found on Wikipedia [link]) i slowly combined each layer to form the rocket as you see it now. There are hardly any actual pictures of the rocket which are useful.
The only thing not produced by me is the moon.

Wow. Your vexel art is amazing.
If you do this in photoshop, the layers explorer (box) must be a nightmare. Do you go along and name nearly every layer.
Is it just me, or is the light from the sun hitting the Earth differently than the rocket or the moon?

Thanks, And yes everything is labeled and put into sections that are colour coded. I did a layer count and there are 656 layers.

No, its just perspective. The viewpoint is the very top of the earth. You can compare this to the moon's tip before it crosses over to dark.
i love how smooth it is

Thanks it is smooth

I'd like to rub my hand on it one day. Up and down. Up and down. :smug:
I feel like the fire isn't appropriate. In space, shouldn't the fire be uniform and flowing in a conal shape with the flame becoming a circle toward the end.
