Airwars researchers estimate that at least 2,300 civilians likely died from Coalition strikes overseen by the Obama White House—roughly 80 each month in Iraq and Syria. As of July 13, more than 2,200 additional civilians appear to have been killed by Coalition raids since Trump was inaugurated—upwards of 360 per month, or 12 or more civilians killed for every single day of his administration. The Coalition’s own confirmed casualty numbers—while much lower than other estimates—also show the same trend. Forty percent of the 603 civilians so far admitted killed by the alliance died in just the first four months of Trump’s presidency, the Coalition’s own data show.
Surpassing Obama in just six months
Like, under Obama as in, ALL 8 years? WHOW, I mean, that's something! Right?
So that's what winning sounds like.
Trump truly is the best.
Reckless disregard of collateral damage and human life while using missiles as a way to boost your approval rating. Sickening.
Like, under Obama as in, ALL 8 years? WHOW, I mean, that's something! Right?
Under Obama, they were still in active fighting not support. So ~6-7 years of active fighting killing same civ. count as Trump as support for anti-IS factions.
Like, under Obama as in, ALL 8 years? WHOW, I mean, that's something! Right?
It's just the campaign against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Obama was in command of that operation for about 28 months or so, Trump has been in command for about 6, same civilian death toll. The article goes on to talk about the strategic changes Trump has put in place that have caused this - i.e. straight up ordering the military to not worry so much about civilian deaths
Every civilian killed spawns ten more jihadists. Good fucking job Trump.
Its almost like Obama wasnt being reckless with his drones Ive kinda felt like he got too much flak for using them when he was just the president in charge when drones developed to that degree of feasibility.
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/daily-beast/ Is there a better source for this?
The independent (Left Center, High) http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/donald-trump-syria-death-toll-campaign-military-operations-barack-obama-administration-a7844526.html The Guardian (Left Center, High) https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jun/06/us-syria-iraq-isis-islamic-state-strikes-death-toll
In fairness to Trump (eugh) coalition airstirkes have been increasing as Iraqi forces push north and especially towards Mosul. The source says out of the 600 civilian deaths reported by the US government, 101 were from a single strike on Mosul, which is obviously going to skew the numbers. That said, according to Mattis himself, Trump has also authorized more aggressive strike missions against ISIS strongholds which I'm sure have their fair share of civilians nearby. So Trump's policy definitely contributes to this.
this is why you don't just blanket authorize the pentagon and fuckoff to your golf courses every night. shit like this is what made the taliban in the first place
Huh I wonder if this lovely quote from back in December has anything to do with this number?
The other thing with the terrorists is you have to take out their families, when you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families. They care about their lives, don't kid yourself. When they say they don't care about their lives, you have to take out their families
Why is it still acceptable to kill this many innocent people?
Not just the men, but the women and the children too? Are there hard numbers on the number of women/children Obama strikes got?
Why is it still acceptable to kill this many innocent people?
because the current US administration does not consider the casualties 'innocent' or even 'people'
because the current US administration does not consider the casualties 'innocent' or even 'people'
US administrations didn't consider innocent deaths from their bombings casualties since Korea. Killing Civilians during mass bombing raids has been a trait of US operations for years, its just Trump's recklessness has caused more of it.
Because there are no repercussions for this type of murder
Oh no, there are repercussions. Just not for Trump. Generations of fed up future militants are the result of our "leader"'s incompetence.
Is it just me or is that actually kinda unambiguously evil as fuck?
Nah, no big deal, just the President-elect advocating war crimes and the explicit targeting of civilians.
Is it just me or is that actually kinda unambiguously evil as fuck?
"he doesn't mean kill all the people, he means we gotta go get'em and give our troops the freedom and authority to do whats gotta get done to get'em! obama micromanaged and hobbled our troops and trump has set the military free!" this is usually the refrain of the apologist fucks at fox that don't seem to care one bit about civilian oversight of the military or for human rights or the humanitarian crisises we cause really the same refrain since korea or vietnam, usually coming from the right
Wow, who would've thought he was going to be worse than Obama on killing civillians. I mean it's like it was never foreshadowed.
So what was that about Trump saying he has a surefire way of taking out isis very quick and very fast that he wouldnt tell anyone during the campaign trail
Excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't this exactly how terrorism begun? What better way to put out a forest fire than pour more oil on it and hope it somehow burns out super quick without spreading and burning the fuck out of everything on the continent instead.
Isn't there at least one shed of responsibility on the shoulders of the Air force/s themselves? Obviously Trump shpuld get the pain for it but surely the commanders who know the risks should get a wrap on the knuckles

You don't bomb an ideology out of existence. Any civilian casualties is indefensible.
Well he never said who he was gonna bomb this shit out of.

It's not like the air Force is like damn man need to bomb me some targets.
Is it just me or is that actually kinda unambiguously evil as fuck?
It's okay because they're [del]muslims[/del] terrorists
