I know this section id PC building, but I've seen prebuilts here before :|
Basically, my friend has $2000 to spend on a Prebuilt PC for gaming, he only needs the tower. The harddrive won't matter since geek squad took it out of his computer for a mere $150.
He lives in the US by the way, and really only uses it for gaming, no 3d modeling or rendering.

5:04 PM - Sir Colton: There are parts to a computer, they dont all die at once, it could be the mobo or the graphics card

5:04 PM - Sir Colton: Hmm
5:04 PM - Sir Colton: Make your own

5:05 PM - Sir Colton: Gift card or something?

:downs:
Tell him building one is much cheaper.
convince him to build or do nothing at all, it would be sad to see someone drop 2k on a pc and not get something spectacular
Here you go. $1,152.92

that's pretty shitty for $1100
That's hilarious, he paid them 150$ to unplug his hard drive?
As for the computer, definitely a waste of money (if you're going to spend that much) to buy a pre-built one. Building your own is the way to go.
you can get an amazing build for 2k yet a prebuilt for 2k is shit
One again, I told him to build it, he belong in the computer illiterate thread.
Perhaps I should tell him to buy the stuff, and take it to the local computer shop and have them make it?
Then again, he will probably take it to geek squad where they will put it together for a mere $300.

Tell him it's generally higher quality, cheaper, and gives you bragging rights.
Building one attracts girls.
Over, he bought a prebuilt at best buy.

Is this a troll thread or what? Prebuilts and Geekssquad in the same thread, and the OP seems to be endorsing it.

Lol your freind is screwed
No, it's not, he bought it.
All he did was spend way more money for a computer that could have been better, if he cant build a computer, he could have at least paid someone to put it together.
Yeah who the fuck buys a prebuilt for $2,000? When it's clearly much more wise to build one that will have much better components.
I bought a $2,000 Dell in 2007. Yes, it was stupidly overpriced, and no, it wasn't very fast, but nothing on it has broken yet. It's convenient and reliable, and I usually think that's what prebuilts are so pricey for.

If you build one yourself, and it dies soon, it's either a factory part error, or that you did it wrong, it changes nothing if it's prebuilt, or built by your own hands.
Prebuilts = Waste of money. Like, throwing your money in a fire.
I wanna see what he bought at best buy.
Me too.
