Coup-appointed Interior Minister Arsen Avakov on Sunday has announced an “anti-terrorist operation” in the city of Slavyansk, eastern Ukraine, where anti-Kiev activists seized several governmental buildings on Saturday. He made the announcement on his Facebook page, which he regularly uses to report on his ministry’s activities.
As the confrontation was under way in Slavyansk, Avakov wrote on Facebook that civilians in the city should remain indoors and away from windows.
Avakov already announced “zero-tolerance policy towards armed terrorists” in Slavyansk and the deployment of anti-terrorist troops in the city on Saturday morning. However no action materialized, as security troops reportedly refused to follow an order to attack protesters.

Apparently after first blockpost in Cherepovka got demolished by police reinforcement, protesters started barricading bridge at other side of city. Let's hope Slavyansk won't be boiling point. both forces are well armed by this moment and this can but [B]SHOULD NOT[/B] escalate to smething far worse.

Where are the Ukrainian counter-movements? Russia is playing dirty, so fling some dirt back at them. If anything, should the Russian separatists exercise violence on Ukrainian citizens, Ukraine has all the justification it needs to come in and "protect the ethnic minority in the region", in a twist of irony.
If the separatists themselves are Ukrainian citizens, they fall under the jurisdiction of Ukrainian law enforcements. If they're not, well, they're actual foreign aggressors threatening the people of Ukraine.
