Maybe we can be flowers.

This was a project for my tonal drawing class. The drawing resulted in me staying up until 3-4 for a couple of nights running, but it was well worth it.
The paper is a little crinkled and this is a photograph, so shadows and such are apparent. I'll scan it all soon and reupload it.
Constructive criticism very welcome.

Great stuff!
reminds me of Karl Blossfeldt's work:

In my opinion the background of the fourth weed (as seen in detail 2) is too dark compared to the others.
The first three are quite bland but I like the contrast in fourth one, good job :)
Thanks for the comments guys!
I agree with both of you; although I wanted it to work as one piece, I realise that the drawings only really work well if you view them as individual works.
ooo. pretty. palette
Those are beautiful.
Very nice use of charcoal and ink, very subtle. By the way, are you mixing the two? I find that I get extremely interesting results when I layer charcoal and then use ink wash straight over it. You get some really thick, deep blacks and the ink spreads like mad. 'Course, though, you're going for a more precise style, but if you ever get bored.. :v:
Haha. I used ink pens and charcoal; I don't have any 'loose' ink at the moment to try washing with, but I'd love to try. =]
Nice. I like the 2nd one.
