That's some pretty disgusting stuff right there. Can't believe some people, just give it away to another family, or orphanage at least. Geez.

10 years seems like the wrong thing in this case though. therepy probably a mental home, but jailtime? it seems like a waste of resources and that it's not really going to help her in any way. the baby is dead, its sad and unfortunate, and she should get some punishment, but we have to help the girl too.

While it certainly doesn't excuse her actions, she shouldn't be held 100% accountable and treated like she committed first degree murder.

North Carolina is a pretty conservative state, I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't able to even get an abortion or admit to her parents she was pregnant.

We don't know if she had any disorders/mental issues, if so are they being treated? Plus raging hormones from pregnancy is another issue. Clearly she has some mental issues.

I know to some this may sound "Controversial", and I really don't want to start a debate but this is the kind of shit that makes me think abortion should be legal, some people are just not sane enough at the time to deal with the massive responsibility of a child. a child is life changing if you don't send them into adoption, and with adoption theres the chance of a really shitty home.

Infanticide is tragic for the the child and the mother.

And this is why abortion should be free for every woman, I'm going to assume her parents were very judging, and seeing how she lives in a state with shitty abortion laws, this is sometimes just what happens, she was completly uncapable of supporting a child, and she had no other choice but to kill it to continue on with her life, sadly her life is more fucked up now than if she kept the kid, but all this could have been avoided if abortion was readily availible.

It just takes someone to snap. For the record that's the case in most nonpremediated murders. The difference is, in most of them your hormonal and mental balance is not out of whack making it more likely for you to snap.

I never knew all these syndromes women have after they give birth, I mean I knew they got really depressed sometimes. My bad.
