• Video Drivers not being detected after Display Driver Crash.

So today I was just playing a game when I was suddenly greeted with a black screen, followed by a recovery message showing that the display drivers had crashed. Since then, the drivers have somehow fucked up, with every capable program (MSI Afterburner, Steam etc) telling me I don't even have drivers. No amount of reinstalling the drivers has helped, I've even tried a system restore and also rolling back to older drivers. What the hell is causing this? By the way, the card is an AMD HD 6850 1GB.
Go into the control panel and uninstall drivers. Then restart the computer and let windows autoinstall the drivers. Restart again. Then try to update drivers to the latest again. But make sure there are no non-essential programs running.
I already tried that with driver sweeper, to no avail.
Is the card detected?
Yes, MSI Afterburner lists the card as "AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series" Also, a further development. Trying to reinstall the drivers doesn't reinstall Catalyst Control Center, I have tried 2 different sets of drivers.
Tried updating drivers from Steam too? It is possible now.
Yes, it just opens up my browser to the AMD driver web page. [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline] I got CCC to install, still no luck with my other problems though.
