This is really pissing me off. I'm on my iPhone using up my data plan to ask for help.
Last night my internet is fine. I wake up and it decides that it just doesn't want to work anymore. Now when I try to connect it says it failed and when I "diagnose" it says:
Windows cannot connect to "Dreams"
This network is marked as a "hidden" network and is either not in range of this computer or the qireless settings saved on this computer do not match the settings of the network.
-> Make sure your computer is in range of "Dreams" and thqt the network settings match the wireless router or access point settings.
Click here to close this dialog box.
Then it has the option to choose another network.
Nothing has changed over night at all. And this is happening with everything in thw house that uses internet. We've restarted computers, the router, everything. So what the hell ismgoing on qnd how do I fix it?
Sounds like your internet was either cut off, your modem stopped working, or your router stopped working.
Unplug both the modem and router's power cables, wait 30 seconds, plug the modem back in. Once all of the lights are back on plug the router back in and try connecting again.
Internet wasn't cut off. Called and made sure. I tried the modem and router thing you said but to no avail.
Come on, someone has to know a fix. I've got mods to work on. Plus I want to play Red Faction Armageddon in a few days.
see if you can actually connect to the router by typing in its ip (use a computer that is actually wired into it)
Yeah that works.
But we need the internet on more than just one computer.
Have you tried pressing the factory reset button on the back of the router and connecting to the default open network? The router might have gone bad.
Yeah I'll think I'm going to do that last...
Any other suggestions?
