Windows 10 is taken ages to startup and shut down and when trying use use it open program's etc it is extremely sluggish and freezes alot its usually very quick i have tried adwcleaner malwarebytes and Norton with no luck so far any ideas ?

but really, go to the start menu and type [i]msconfig[/i] and look under the startup tab and check if there's anything fishy in there being launched at boot. you could also always look at the task manager to see what's using up most of your cpu and make sure something's not hogging all of your memory.
same shit is happening to me, but i can't also open the start menu. I did try doing something in powershell but it didn't work
Could you share your system specs?
In Task Manager, in the Performance tab, select your C: drive, and check what the average response time is.
If its like 1000+ ms, there's your problem. The C: drive is either extremely busy (100% in active time) or too slow to keep up. At that point, you would need to determine whether or not its software (program is using to much HDD time) or hardware (drive is dying/encountering errors).
I know this is probably outside of what you're willing to do OP, but I had a similar problem to this:

for a long time and resetting my PC clean fixed it.
